Clyde Season 23/24
Quentin Taranbino replied to SLClyde's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
Any truth to todays rumours about DG being back in a voluntary behind the scenes role (I assume some sort of coaching)? -

I know this thread is about the game in Falkirk but as there was a mention of the return fixture - how many Falkirk fans do you think would make the trip to Stirling? A similar number that you would take to Alloa? -
Looks like it is a complete youth team for us tonight vs East Kilbride aside from Josh Cooper (coming back from injury) and second choice goalie Mark Weir. Not even any senior players on bench. Expect EK could run riot

Some big big money been thrown on East Kilbride tonight to win. Whilst I would agree they probably are the favourites against our reserves/youths - the odds are mental. Very tempted to stick some money on us to win -

It's our next league game which is why I started it. If you genuinely think I was boasting about being ahead of them in the league after two games then you need to work on your skills to pick up on sarcasm. -

This was the worst of them. Credit to any Bairns fans in the terracing. It was fucking freezing -

Last 12 League Fixtures between the clubs 2010/11 Stirling 1 - 2 Falkirk Falkirk 4 - 2 Stirling Stirling 0 - 5 Falkirk Falkirk 3 - 0 Stirling 1997/98 Falkirk 1 - 0 Stirling Stirling 0 - 6 Falkirk Falkirk 3 - 2 Stirling Stirling 2 - 3 Falkirk 1996/97 Falkirk 2 - 2 Stirling Stirling 0 - 0 Falkirk Falkirk 5 - 2 Stirling Stirling 1 - 0 Falkirk 27 years since we have beaten Falkirk in the league since a Steve McCormick strike back in 1996 Shows just how far we had fallen that there have been so few league meetings between the clubs. Some right humpings in there -
Can the mighty Bairns overcome the plucky Binos and leapfrog them in the league table. All the pressure on Falkirk, I'll settle for a point but wouldn't surprise me if we grind out a 1-0 win and go five clear of them. How have you been playing so far this season Falkirk fans?

Amazing start from the team this year. To carry it over from last season to the league cup group and then to the league games is some feat I suspect our run comes to an end as we negotiate three tricky fixtures coming up. East Kilbride - On one hand I want to keep the good run going but on the other I'm thinking just to throw out the young players. I expect it will be a mix of youngsters and the likes of Cooper, Banner, Spence etc. EK thumped someone again today. Will be hard game even with our first team playing. Aberdeen - We are expected to lose and we probably will but I hope the players go out and put up a fight and make Aberdeen work for it. A sell out crowd and hopefully a great game. Falkirk - Away to the bairns is as tough as it will be in this league. Would happily take a point but on the run we are on and with this team I genuinely believe we are capable of grinding out a result. As an ultimate pessimist, I can also easily see us losing all three games -
A glorious result

Hows the game so far? Anyone edging it? Hard to tell from the twitter updates from the clubs Hopefully a decent crowd made it through

I remember 4-0 at half time thinking that this was our chance to get our own back and being gutted at only scoring the one in the second half. Was that the season Marek Tomana was outrageous for the first six months before teams cottoned on and started booting him about? Whi the f**k was Malseed? Don't remember him at all.

I do remember a smashing 4-4 draw at the recs I think the following season. Was looking for some more details of the game online but coming up blank. All I seem to recall is Kicky Woods scoring a cracking goal right near the endnto either put us ahead or level the game. I remember being behind the goals and going nuts

Does video footage exist of that 7-0 game? If not it didn't happen

Enjoying the media videos @TheWestStand keep up the good work. In the interviews with Darren Young and Creaney, I'm glad you asked "What will Edinburgh bring?" rather than "We play X next week, how do you approach that game?" The former allows him to open up on the question about Edinburgh rather than the latter question which always tends to get the same answer "we approach it as we always do etc etc" Great to see you growing and improving into the role. The real test will come when we are getting humped and you have to ask the awkward questions -
My thoughts too now it's on a Friday night. I know Aberdeen have a good travelling support but unsure what that actually means as numbers for a Friday night game. I imagine public transport back from Stirling post game will be an issue too.

Harrison Ashby
Quentin Taranbino replied to Carnoustie Young Guvnor's topic in Tartan Army Ramblings
He is going on loan to Swansea. -
He did an interview last month I think, where he said he hadn't decided yet. It said in same article that Steve Clarke had tried to call him up to the full squad but he had turned it down. Not decided yet is the polite media way of saying he doesn't want to rule out an England call up first as that's his priority.

Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread
Quentin Taranbino replied to Kyle's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
No, we left our top scorer Dale Carrick on the bench as well as Kyle Banner who usually starts in defensive midfield. Our back up keeper and a couple others were in team for rotation as well. The full strength team will be out next week for league opener vs Edinburgh
