  1. Daniel Scally played for us as a winger and in my opinion, a pretty mediocre player but someone who could 'do a job' at league two level. He had a chance to go to America at the same time as we needed to get players off the books so he only lasted half a season. Average Incidentally, we had him on one wing and Nathan Flanagan on the other wing who appeared to play against you today for East Kilbride. Flanagan > Scally although both massively inconsistent like most lower league wingers.
  2. I cant confirm or deny just how much EK 9ffered. Or how much Dumbar15on apparantly wanted. Hope situation is ironed out, Sons fans are a decent bunch
  3. Maybe Gray thinks that playing in Lowland League for a season and getting promoted is the best path for him especially if as rumoured it was a 2 year deal. I agree though, madness and lack of ambition.
  4. For the season gone it has to be Ben Doak. Massively ahead of his age group in development already, a few appearances for first team and imagine he will be in and around first team even more next season. If Steve Clarke had invited Ben Doak into squad for the games last week, I doubt anyone would have been against that. A serious serious talent.
  5. Edit - been asked to remove fcuking hell that was fast. Are these boards monitored?

  7. This is the most confident I have ever been in my life that we will qualify for a tournament. It's happening, just a case of when. What's the earliest point we can officially qualify and what results need to happen for that to happen?
  8. The SFA's official contingency is to play the game at St Mirren What an absolute cluster fcuk of an organisation. This is new levels of fannyism
  9. May have been posted elsewhere but good to hear what an influence Liam Cooper was last night to the other players https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65944846 He is a player that I suspect will never be a certain starter for Scotland but still turns up and does a shift when he needs to. Sounds like he is a positive influence behind the scenes too.
  10. I'm a ten pointer like you mentioned. I'm assuming Georgia, Cyprus and Spain will be a no go for away tickets at my level? I bought season tickets so I'm assuming my points for each game are added afterwards and not at the point of buying the season ticket? Trying to work out how many points I'll be on come the Euros assuming I can only get home tickets
  11. Sylvano Comvalius A big 23 year old Dutch striker who came to Stirling in 2010. His previous two seasons he had scored 14 in 22 and then 15 in 28 . Sure it was the Maltese premier league but was still clearly a prolific striker. I was buzzing when he signed. Was sure he was gonna smash in the goals He turned out for us 6 times, 0 goals, 0 assists and was bombed out of the club. You could argue he never really got a fair chance to prove himself with just 6 appearances but something just didn't work for him here from the off. He went on to be fairly prolific after us too so we are probably the anomaly here. I was so disappointed
  12. Yeah the club have done a great job taking the league trophy on a tour of Stirling businesses and community groups, big credit for that. Seen loads of photos of kids groups with the trophy. However it does seem a little bit of a missed opportunity with no fixtures, prices, merch or match info to go with it. Every single one of those 1000+ people (mostly kids) that have held the trophy in the last 6 weeks should be going home with a flyer that has details of upcoming season, club shop merch, discount code for shop/match tickets, how much matches cost blah blah. Wee Jimmy comes home from his football training; Jimmy: Look mum and dad, stirling albion came to our class today and we got to hold the trophy, it was so cool. Jimmy's Maw: That would be a good thing for him to do on a weekend, maybe take him to a couple of games in new season? Jimmy's Da: Just been on the website, no information about when season starts, any fixtures, prices or anything really. Jimmy's Maw: Maybe will check it out in a few weeks, see if it's been updated. Out of sight, out of mind, they never ever go back to the website and forget about it all. Especially with kids, gotta strike while the iron is hot. They will move on very quickly. Just frustrating as there is clearly some really good work going on behind the scenes, but every day that goes by, it feels like we are losing more and more opportunity to capitalise.
  13. First pre season friendly announced. Away to Civil Service Strollers on 4th July. Kick off time tbc
  14. Russell McLean rumoured to be coming in (not sure if that means signing or invited for pre season etc)
  15. What are the minimum expectations do you think to keep Marv in a job? Getting in playoffs but missing out? Or is it promotion or bust for him?
  16. I see Mason Hancock has been released by Aberdeen. I suspect he may have a few full time offers but he loved his time here I believe.
  17. Whilst thinking about potential pre season fixtures, I got thinking of the Stirlingshire Cup and my own memories of the competition. I'm assuming there is just zero appetite to bring this back in any shape for the clubs? Would have been a nice pre season tournament. Perhaps a revamped one with some additional teams. Dunipace were an original participant of the cup and now back in the pyramid. Clydebank too I'm sure were involved for a while. Stirling Uni would make a sensible addition too. I tried to look for details on the Stirlingshire FA but up to date details aren't easy to find, maybe not even going anymore. I actually think Dumbarton might be the chairs of the FA for some reason. Maybe @Jan Vojáček will know? Edit; pyramid teams who are/were in Stirlingshire. Stirling Albion Falkirk Alloa Athletic Stenhousmuir East Stirlingshire Dumbarton Stirling University Dunipace Bo'ness? (Not sure where boundary stretched to) Sauchie Camelon Clydebank Must be missing a ton of clubs?
  18. Also well done to everyone involved in the Ross McGeachie testimonial stuff. The dinner last night looked to be a great success.
