When the whole Burnley thing broke, I first thought - wow - then I thought….. English Premier League - most popular and richest league in the world. Scottish Championship - complete diddy league in relation to the English Premier League. We are not even close to that ball park. If there is anything that we can get out of it, without it costing us anything, then that’s a good thing. But did anyone realistically think we would end up with an English Premier League team’s best fringe players? That being said - it WAS more than hinted at. Looks like it was intended, there were conversations, but it just hasn’t worked out. Probably something like…. Ayr - I’d take those 3 boys. Burnley - let me think about it. Ayr - awright then. Burnley - Naw, you can have any of the others if you want, but not those 3. Ayr - No, just leave it the now then.

Who knows - but the boy clearly knows where the goals are and I’m sure his confidence will be rising with each one he sticks away.

You got to love Salkelds enthusiasm and effort but the skill level is just not there especially when we are playing him as a second striker. I don’t think I’ve seen him standing still. I’m sure he even sprints off at half time 100% effort though, can’t deny that

I don’t know why anyone else hasn’t thought of this…….. Play a 5 - 5 formation. Hoppy-hoofball right over the midfield (who aren’t there) and plenty of attacking threat. Its a winner!

Is Houston’s contract not up in January?

Identical pathway for me, but I need to be there on Saturday. The itch never gets scratched and I can’t help it. It’s an addiction for me. I get separation anxiety knowing that I could be there but I’m not. I missed out on the semi final / final season under Dalziel because of a girlfriend and I won’t let that happen again. I’ve waited decades to watch us play “them” in the league again, and I’m not going to miss any of that. (Here comes the birthday caird pish bit) Its our club. It’s the fans club. Manager and players will come and go but it is our one and only. One love. f**k the manager with his hoofball. f**k any of the players who don’t try. f**k the seagulls for shitting on us. Don’t let any of them keep YOU away from YOUR club. Remember, we only have so many games left in us at the end of the day.

Don’t fancy us in any way shape or form in this one. All we can do is hope that the manager just does a “f**k it” and plays 3 up front. 3-5 to the Arabs. Will there be much of a tangerine support down on Saturday?

Free hit next week in the cup tie with Dundee United. Think it’s worth just going for it and trying to out score them. If we play not to lose, we will get gubbed, or at the very least, end up like the killie game.

I’m damn sure there is a team in there somewhere. Sadly, I just don’t think Hopkin is the one the get the best out of them. I never ever want to see someone lose their job, but I don’t think he is the right manager for Ayr United.
