  1. The vast majority of players in Scotland will be earning way below average wage (half of them are part-time of course). The Old Firm players will make a very good living and would be able to retire when they hang up their boots, assuming that they've been careful with their money, but below that most Premier players will make a very good living for maybe 10-15 years but not nearly enough to retire when they stop playing. IMO of course.
  2. I was about to suggest Alan Holt. Grant didn't come from the juniors though, we paid money to sign him.
  3. Maybe he's thinking of Lee (night) Mair? Dates wouldn't fit though.
  4. I thought you meant Marr that we signed from Celtic. Can't think who the other guy is.
  5. And you know this how? Maybe he was dismissed for gross misconduct, i.e. having McKinnon by throat against the dressing room wall. (Not that I personally would class that as gross misconduct).
  6. Nope we didn't renew this season. Sorry should have said were season ticket holders. Went in to the shop to get my ticket for Saturday. Guy behind the counter was doing all the work but Andy Thomson was hovering in the background putting the guy off. (f**k knows what he was doing there). The laddie asked me if I was a season ticket holder, I looked straight at Thomson and said, 'no, not this year'. Thomson says, that'll be £600 then please.
  7. Aye, was a bit of a puzzle that. I think he was a far better player than either Haber or Lewis though.
  8. Don't think we would have given him anything near 18 months. Would have arrived at an agreement.
  9. Yip. If we need a win on the last day we'll be relegated. Don't worry about it, Petra will sort it out!
  10. Unfortunately my memory's absolutely atrocious and I think I've managed to block out a lot of the shite that I've witnessed over the years. I don't think you're too far off with that 11 though. I remember Jim Cook as a winger rather than a full back and don't have much memory of him being all that bad. I'd have Terry Mullen in at right back instead. Definitely go with Bryce in midfield though (and to think we swapped him for Bobby Robinson!), Mennie too. I'd maybe consider partnering Dennon up top with Haber as well.
  11. I think that if they play Miller as a sweeper then they may play a lone striker (McManus) with Longridge, Todd, Gomis & Connolly in the middle. It's not a game for Telfer.
  12. I got the impression that he felt Barca would be beneath him. Seriously though and this is true, I haven't seen a lazier or more disinterested individual 'play' for us in all of the 50 odd years that I've been attending.
  13. I assume you'll be skating about with a wig on instead?
  14. Excuse me, but are you the chap that told us that Haber was the best striker at Dundee too?
  15. Don't agree with that at all. If it came to a 1 on 1 foot race between one of our forwards and a defender I know which forward I would want in there. As I said, he lacks a lot of qualities but he's strong and fast and actually quite good with the ball at his feet. Come to think of it, he doesn't often miss chances when they come his way either. I think he could do a decent job against Hearts because they'll adopt a much higher line than we're used to and are likely to leave gaps at the back.
  16. Sammon gets a hard time because folk, including M&M it seems, want him to do things that he's not very good at. He's not good in the air and his hold up play's not good either yet these are the qualities that are expected from him. His games all about running the channels and balls over the top for him to chase. IMO he should be used off the bench to bring that type of thing into play when plan A isn't working. Personally I think a combination of McManus & Longridge up front would work best however, McManus needs to work more as a team player. He tries to do too much himself which isn't helping to get any sort of partnership going up there.
  17. I agree with this. If he puts himself on ahead of other options then there is a good chance it could cause upset in the changing room Remember Yogi's efforts against Dundee Utd? Thought he could still do it when he clearly couldn't.
  18. Have you not answered your own question re Longridge when you say that the pitch was not conducive to playing football?
  19. Is it maybe possible that Hall had a wee knock? Just wondering.
  20. Are you pished, high or just stupid?
  21. I assume so. I think that's the case anyway, hope I'm wrong though.
