Bought WWE: History of hardcore championship on eBay the other day for £9.99. Putting it on now. Loved the hardcore title as a kid.

Is that the one with Foley, Raven & RVD talking about the matches?

That's a good un

Yeah mate that’s it, watched about 90 mins of the first disc last night. so much fun watching RVD, Raven and that tear up the place.

As a kid i was obsessed with the Red announce table, blue steel chairs and when anyone was thrown off the stage through the covered up tables. I was buzzing whenever the Dudley’s got some old diva and power bombed them off the stage.

History made in Japanese wrestling as

El Hijo De Wanger Jr beat Kenoh for NOAH's GHC Heavyweight title becoming the first Mexican to win the heavyweight title in one of the 'big 3' companies. Only the 2nd foreigner to win the title following Eddie Edwards who won it in 2016. Fellow Mexican Luis Mante won Dragon Gate's heavyweight equivalent Open The Dream Gate Championship in December becoming the 3rd foreigner to win the belt following Ricochet (2014) & Pac (2016).

Stardom founder Rossy Ogawa has been punted by Bushiroad (who also own NJPW) being accused of trying to poach talent. Ogawa was due to leave in the next couple of weeks but has been shown the door slightly early.

Since the purchase by Bushiroad in 2019 Ogawa has had less & less control being being at odds with Bushiroad over the direction of the company including Bushiroad overiding his decisions & also being blamed for things not in his control. Last year Bushiroad upped the schedule last year including the genius idea of having b-tier size PPVs in the middle of tournaments. The result of this upped schedule was a spate of injuries which not only saw numerous wrestlers out but also having to vacate the Goddess of Stardom & World of Stardom belts due to Tam Nakano going on the injured list. There was also one show that started several hours late & another poorly promoted that saw a 1xx gate. Bushiroad were put on blast not only by Ogawa but also one of the companies top stars Giulia.

Ogawa has confirmed his intention to set up a new promotion albeit with the caveat of a five-year non-compete clause in the contract when Bushiroad bought Stardom. Some on the roster are very close & loyal to Ogawa with some already having disclosed to Bushiroad management they'll be out the door so an exodus might be on the cards ala NOAH with AJPW. March is when contracts are up notably however Mayu Iwatani who made her wrestling debut at Stardom's first ever show in 2011 & has been with the company ever since is one of the contracts not up in March due to an upcoming movie.

One knock on effect of this is that Giulia is reported to be delaying her move to WWE in order to help Ogawa with his new promotion.

For a bit of further background Ogawa is a very important figure in joshi wrestling. Ogawa started out as photographer with AJW (All Japan Women's Wrestling) in 1978 going on to fufill several roles in the office including involvement in creative during AJW's peak years. Ogawa left in 1997 over disagreements with AJW owners to form Arison with Aja Kong with Arison last until 2003 before going on to form Stardom in 2010. Ogawa is a big name so any new venture would have a head start in getting off the ground. As an example Stardom when it launched had a TV deal from the offset with Samurai TV.

For further background on Ogawa & joshi in general this interview
with wrestling journalist & long time friend of Ogawa Fumi Saito is worth a read.

Did any sort of explanation of this ever come about?

Something to do with folk getting upset at Ravey Davey calling Kid Fite out as a wrongun.

Even though Kid Fite is a documented wrongun.
