The ghost of Jim Morton
I'm not appealing for you now Ghostie. That's cool PLL..There's enough ridiculous appealing going on already. It would be silly for you to join in
HibeeJibee
There's a "Fifeshire" FA?! And I thought "Forfarshire" was bad Actually it may be 'Fife FA' now... that's my historical side coming in, it used to be Fifeshire FA . Should the fact that Derrick Brown may conceivably have a casting vote on this raise eyebrows? ferryjambo
Who will hear this appeal to the SFA?The appeal will be heard by the Appeals Committee, set out in rule 133 (and in particular 133.1) of the SFA Articles of Association. The membership of the SFA Appeals Committee is as follows: Donnie McIntyre (Chairman + Casting vote) (SFL, formerly Dumbarton FC?) Derrick Brown (Vice-Chairman) (Fifeshire FA, formerly East Fife FC?) Steven Brown (Forfarshire FA & St Johnstone FC) Colin Holden (South of Scotland FL & Threave Rovers FC) Finlay Noble (Highland FL & Fraserburgh FC) Eric Riley (Glasgow FA & Celtic FC) Martin Ritchie (Stirlingshire FA & Falkirk FC) Oh Goody. Geoffs son and St.Johnstone director Stevie Broon is on the committee.. Well that's one person who will have not a drop of fucking sympathy for those crooked bastards.. Livi will just offer celtic first shot at their kiddies and it will be appeal upheld
Benjamin_Nevis
Actually it may be 'Fife FA' now... that's my historical side coming in, it used to be Fifeshire FA .Should the fact that Derrick Brown may conceivably have a casting vote on this raise eyebrows? I was thinking that. Rankine still has some involvement at East Fife does he not?
ferryjambo
Is the chairman in any way known to Rankine? Given both are former Dumbarton board members not infeasible. Although the SFA is as corrupt as any organisation you will find including the churches so shouldnt be a surprise.

Guest WJR
True but what is uniquely revolutionary about this case? / No, they normally just 'send it back'... Howdo HJ, can't quite understand why you oppose Livi's actions and the possible fixture chaos which could result from that - surely unexpected fixture chaos at short notice could throw up a consultancy project for an acknowledged fixtures specialist - now where would you find one of these? One thing must be sure, McDougall and Rankine know how the league and management committee work, almost certainly better than every poster on this thread and they will have access to all the relevant correspondence and meeting notes. Barrack room lawyers like Sir Calum amuse me. PS Listening to Radio 5 where the reporter said he was hit by a wave of apathy - surely such a wave wouldn't actually care?
Jay Silverheels
Why would Livi wish to remain members of an organization which they obviously hold in complete contempt? To paraphrase Groucho Marx: we don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like us as members. I think that was in his Communist Party Manifesto...

Then you look at the make up of that panel, (if accurate) even without McIntyre, thier will be allegiences among the group. Also if the result of the vote was 16-10 they seem to have a fair degree of sympathy. Only 4 more required if The SFA bounce it back. I think they will be more confident tonight than they were this morning

Why can't they just accept the punishment for what they've done and get on with things? McDougall has already said that they're equipped to play in the Third Divison yet, as of Saturday, will have scratched two Third Division fixtures. MacWatt
The crux of McDougall's argument appears to be........ "The appeal is about the course of events that have led us to be relegated." The 'events' that they appear most exercised about is the apparent 'agreement' by the SFL to agree the Business plan allowing them to remain in the First Division and the subsequent decision by the SFL Managment Committee to relegate them which seems to have come as some surprise to McDougall and Rankine given this apparent 'agreement'. Some representatives of the SFL may have given some 'indication' that everything 'would be ok'. However, to suggest that this 'indication' was somehow legally binding on the SFL is naive in the extreme. They are obviously pissed off, but to base further appeals on this 'course of events' is folly in the extreme. Longmuir and McMaster made it clear at the press conference that they have been acting on the advice of their own Counsel. The foolish route down which McDougall and Rankine are leading the club may just be the actions of stubborn men who think the SFL have somehow gone back on their word, think that they have been wronged with macho male pride obscuring sound judgement.

Still if they get enough drink down them,Livvy will get a 12 month driving ban,two scones, and an entry to next years Highland Show (country dancing gay section). McDougall has already said that they're equipped to play in the Third Divison yet, as of Saturday, will have scratched two Third Division fixtures. I think it is more of a commercial issue rather than strict interpretation of the rules. None of us on here know what was said and what was delivered or not. If the MC said that they would be in Div 1 if they posted a bond and then went back on that because of a backlash from other clubs (Lead by McInally and Kenny Black!) then if I was in Livi's position I would be very pissed off. On the other hand, if the Livi consortium couldn't deliver the bond in an acceptable timescale then that is a different matter.
Sergeant Wilson
I suspect that Derrick Brown and McIntyre are the dominant characters in that group. They also have very stong links to Rankine.

Colin is a good football guy and a really nice man. Is part of a club who would love to be part of any pyramid system leading to SFL entry. Working hard on the ground, trying to make sure it meets criteria one day. Chairman of the most professional club in the South League. I can't see him being controversial and wanting to overturn a ruling body's decision, especially when all of the clubs have had their say.
ferryjambo
Depending on what was said in this correspondence prior to the relegation even if Livi loose all their appeals they could have a strong civil claim against the SFL for damages based on actions taken on their representations. Really think the SFL need to back down now and save what face they can before Livi drag them into a troublesome and costly legal battle. Who will really loose out if they just get docked say 30 points? The only clear losers are Airdrie and Cowdenbeath and from what has been said Airdrie dont seem too bothered. A massive points deduction would be lesson enough to prevent any blatant breaches.
centralparker
It's pointless for Livvy to appeal again. The SFA won't interfere with the actions of an individual league. Why should they, it's really none of their business.
