Livingston - all the threads merged

One other thing to mention - there was due to be a 2 day Court of Session debate from Tuesday for the outstanding court cases with Neils Hogarth & Rankine. Worth keeping an eye on how this went to determine whether this purchase was limited to existing shares in issue (e.g. buying from Hogarth/Wilson etc) or from new issued shares.

Doesn't fill me with confidence:

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/r19BSTXD57P7M4HXKUCMIj8MQ2Y/appointments

A number of these are shadow companies and about half have been threatened with being struck off due to non delivery of accounts.

In reality I would have hoped for a buyer who was able to put about £500k per annum in to the club in order to create a steady financial development. Nothing I've seen fro this portfolio suggests this to be the case.

Hopefully I'm totally wrong.

I thought the days of Scottish clubs getting into bed with dodgy looking owners was over. Livingston must have been facing financial armageddon to even think about letting this guy in , one would think they would have learned from the past , but apparently not. This will end in tears , again !

To be honest I think it's too early to judge him/them. We don't know what kind of money they have or will be putting in. Investment into the club was the only way forward, we'd been taken as far as we could go without investment from elsewhere

Everything about this news bothers me, from the online footprint of this guy to the constant stream of “great news” comments and social media likes.

Bit early to refer to him as "dodgy".

The thing is he doesn't seem to have the finances behind him personally to be able to fund a Premiership club so assume it must be other backers. The alternative is that we could end up with another Walter Mitty character.

I think one of his companies had a turnover of over 11m to be fair

As i said in the Livi v Celtic match thread when this topic was brought up, it makes me wonder what an investor expects to get out of this, he has no emotional connection to Livi for the heart to rule his head pumping money into the club, he'll want to be making money, so what's the true motive for doing this. Buying the stadium was always what other owners looked to do, then sell off the land for a profit, about the only club making any profit is Celtic, it's a notorious risky business to get involved with.

Maybe just wants to own a football club? I think most people know they aren't making money out of football and he's made a decent sum of football. Interestingly his header on his Facebook is a picture of Celtic Park as well.

Well, that's the pitch sorted.

Given the Walter Mitty types that have been involved in various Scottish clubs - Livi included - over the years, a Scottish investor who is Managing Director of a pretty well known company seems like a pretty decent person to come in, on the face of at least.

The carpeting business went bust a couple of years after that interview. The retail part of the business seems to be tiny, but limping along although it's appealing a compulsory strike-off.

The connection to Mortons is, for anyone that knows anything about that business, interesting.

Baycup Limited

Not exactly surprising. Baycup is obviously a holding company (created a couple of months ago with one share valued at £1).

John McIlvogue is the MD but the question is who own's the share?

Please let it not be Massone or Flynn or Rankin or Nixon for that matter.

Knowing our luck it will end up being Donald Trump.

He certainly has the money to make us competitive

Having been a season  ticket holder for 20+ years ( apart from one when Massone was at the helm) I say welcome to Baycup and John McIlvogue. I hope you have the vision and clout to help Livingston FC to the next stage in its growth. To all the fans of other teams who see this as an opportunity to have another dig at the club, get it round ye. I thank you.

DT's business ventures have not often been successful; his short lived ventures into the casino industry are a particular case in point.

Your forgetting the new entry level season ticket prices of £3k per annum (actually comparable with some London sides).

Dress code; no jeans; trainers collarless shirts etc. Ladies will need to wear dresses - gingham preferred.

Also racism; misogyny and sexism is not only allowed; its actually required.

Finally the club will have a brand spanking new stadium in Stanford; Florida.
