Livingston - all the threads merged

There is a parcel of land under the current lease that Livingston have with the council, that is also part of a the site that has planning permission for building houses on adjacent to the stadium.

There is a theory that this parcel of land might be worth a fair chunk of cash to ensure the developer can build his houses under the present planning permission.

SSN talking abou the Ashes - WTF? :D

livi saved yet it so obvious its gonna happen

Sky Sports News are a fucking digrace just now. There's a club on the brink of extinction and Alex McLeish is talking about his new signings.

I'm more annoyed about having to listen to Nigel Winterburn spout pish... <_<

The council do own the land. But someone will no doubt try to buy the stadium off the council, because the central belt desperately needs new unaffordable housing.

A previous poster commented "If Massone was to get £70000 on a debt of £290000 that works out at about 25p in the pound. If the total debt is £1.7million that means someone must be willing to pay somewhere in the region of £425000 to £450000 for the club. Thats a loyt of money to pay for a company that has no assets."

If someone buys the club for that, surely the council would still own the land but Livingston would be playing there.

I realise that if the club go bust the council could flog the land off.

The Breaking News bit only mentions some nobody having a medical at Man City.

The media are shocking - if this was one of the SPL clubs there would have been a 6 hour build up and a Chick Young special programm on the radio.

..............but it is a diddy club which is even viewed by other diddy clubs as being very very diddy. Far more people care about BCFC's new signings than care about LFC's existance. Hence it is a non event south of the border.

Why is that shocking ? Far more people will be interested in someone having a medical at Man City than a Scots 1st Div club going bust. Sad but true.
