Quick Question Thread

Unless you're too big to fit in the gap where the washing machine goes you could probably do it. If the  machine is new its just a question of taking a few packaging/restraining bolts out of the back, shoving the grey drain hose onto or into the drain bit below the kitchen sink, attaching the blue pipe to the water supply and hand tightening then check that it's reasonably level. Be a man Dave.

Aye, I've done that before. There isn't an inlet for the drain hose under the sink, as it's going in to a works staff room, and I doubt they've ever needed one. I presume a bit of piping just needs changed, but I'm by no means confident enough in my (non-existent) plumbing skills to give that a shot.

No connection for the water supply hose either, thinking about it. Bugger. I'm reduced to asking around for hauners as I think I'm going to end up paying for it.

Magee?

He's gas, isn't he?

I'll ask Div for his number.

Nothing banana flavoured tastes like banana.  Foam bananas taste of chemicals, which is why they taste magnificent whilst the actual fruit gives me the boak*

*nothing to do with texture
i agree with you. i love banana yoghurt etc but i hate bananas

You mean it isn't a gas powered washing machine?

That's weird.

f**k, there was a old comedy sketch about nuclear-powered domestic appliances that would have been perfect for this occasion, but I can't find it.

Just imagine I posted something unfunny, as usual  :(

I got a new bank card for today but my current one doesn't expire for another 15 months. I haven't requested one and it's identical to the one I have apart from the 16 digit number(although only the last two numbers have changed). Can any p&b'er who works in a bank tell me if this is standard practice?

If they've suspected any fraudulent activity linked to your card (doesn't necessarily involve having money taken from your account) then they'll issue a new card automatically to be on the safe side but no harm in phoning them to check that.

Cheers. I'll likely give them a call before using it!

Never happened to me. If it did I'd go into a branch with the letter etc. as I'm a bit paranoid about how sneaky these pranksters are getting over the phone and internet. Probably just a card with updated tech though.
