Quick Question Thread

What would happen if you had an unlimited monthly council car park permit with the registration plate noted on it but you happened to go to work, forgetting to show it on the dashboard. Could you successfully challenge the inevitable fine or would you just be f***ed and out of pocket?

Not happened to us yet but it's bound to happen eventually.

Pretty sure if the ticket is not displayed at the time you will be liable for a penalty fine.

Its the same if your road tax disc falls off your windscreen and is no longer visible

But if you've got any kind of a case for an appeal then have a go. Appeals have pretty high success rate in Edinburgh, I don't know about where you live

Why does Gareth Bale look like such a complete fanny?

If you think he looks like a fanny you need to meet more women

I always here people talking about Moray Cup being the greatest drink on earth but I've never seen it in Glasgow/Ayrshire. Where can I buy this (apparently) glorious beverage?

Asda Toryglen sells it so I'd imagine the other bigger shops would too.

The deli in Keith has a giant pyramid of it in store just now as it's on offer at 30p a bottle. This was rather embarrassing for me at the weekend when I couldn't find it in the drinks section, asked the shop assistant if they had any at which point she pointed to Mount Sangs right behind me.

Might be a bit of a jaunt for you and will only save you money if you're looking to purchase 100,000 bottles of the stuff, in which case I'm sure they'd deliver it to you direct. As mentioned already, ASDA seems to be your bet... apparently.

I have a couple of voice notes recorded on my phone that I wouldn't mind sharing on places like Facebook, here etc.

Does anyone know how I'd actually go about making them into transferable files? The phone is a Blackberry btw, in case that's relevant.

Has anyone here had any dealings with Kwik Fit? I'm thinking of going to them to get the strut top mountings changed on my car and dont want to get my baws felt. The boy said it'll cost roughly £200.

Do I need to wear a suit to an internal job interview when being interviewed by people who you vaguely know and have spoken to once or twice in 4 years? Or will normal shirt and trousers (no tie) be ok?

Don't want to look like a dick in a suit or like a scruffy b*****d who should be in a suit.

I'd wear a suit to be on the safe side. That said I've never had an interview internally for a job, so maybe that wouldn't be the done thing.

I'd go with the analogy that I'd prefer to be as smart as possible with the risk of being over-dressed, rather than be under-dressed and everyone else is looking dapper and wearing a suit.

Personally I would go with the suit. Its always better to be overdressed than underdressed in a situation like that. You can always take the blazer off if you feel too overdressed.

If they are interviewing you internally, they are looking for too much detail.
