D.A.F.C
Does anyone work in quality or manufacturing that can help with this? You are manufacturing items. You monitor the throughput and quality by 'first time pass' at each stage. You build ten items. Nine pass first time without any issues so first time passes. No problem there. One is marked down as a first time fail and goes away to be reworked. So therefore the fty is 9/10 simple? My question is when the item comes back to that process again can it be marked down as a first time pass as it has failed already? What's happening where I looked at it in practice was. 9 passes one fail then 1 pass which was the previous fail. If you work that out its 90% and 91%. Add this up over a year and the yield improves dramatically. Confused. Surely if you put your car in for an mot it either passes or fails. You wouldn't want a paper saying it was a first time pass but it had an exhaust change?
Miguel Sanchez
I need to buy some glue. Has anyone used, would anyone recommend, Gorilla Glue?
BFTD
Polystyrene cement was all the rage among huffers when I was a wean. Might want to give that a try first.
Miguel Sanchez
Cement seems a bit impractical to join a drawer back together

BFTD
Christ, wood glue should do that job, never mind adhesives designed to bond the flesh of great apes.
Miguel Sanchez
I typed "wood glue" into amazon and Gorilla Glue was the top result
BFTD
Sounds like you're set! So to speak... Remember not to use it in a confined space. Unless that sounds like fun, of course.
Miguel Sanchez
I feel like you're not taking this seriously, Dave.
BFTD
I assure you my attention is fixed on this problem. Just stay away from that 'No More Nails' pish. You will need nails, and the hangover is chronic.
Miguel Sanchez
I note that on its page, below where it says "add to basket" it also offers "add to wedding list" Now that's romance!

The wife and I put pig ears for the dug down on our wedding registry. Unsurprisingly, the first buyer scrolled past the domestic appliances and chose the cheapskate option Uhu! You're latex to the party tonight, Mozza.

You only get one chance to be a first time yield otherwise it doesn't make sense and would screw your fty and reworks metrics.

Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Is this an 'I can't believe it's not butter!' style situation? It is a cartridge style adhesive which is available from Screwfix.

Grim O'Grady
Name of f*ck Dave! What a horrible and disgusting thing to imply! You should be fucking ashamed of yourself! Aye BFTDave, I reckon you wanna be careful about making blanket statements about faeces play, who knows maybe it might stick (no pun intended). You know what some posters are like, once they get the bit between their teeth. Grimbo
