Fruit with main courses isn't that odd - mango chutney, apple sauce, lime pickle, duck a l'orange. I suppose enough folk like them that it's not full-blown weird, but none of the meat/fruit popular combinations work for me. I don't think pork goes with apple. lemon or orange with chicken or cranberry with turkey for example. It's not a fruit, but you can add mint and lamb to that list.
