Raith69
Jack Hamilton starts today, as a trialist in other news Adam Masson starts alongside Watson in the centre and McGill starts at Right-back. No Dylan Corr and no Ross Millan due to injury. Bench contains both sub keepers, and the Young lad from the community along 3 others. So no surprises injuries are wrecking havoc with the squad.
MICMAC
It was early 2000 that I left early. Playing st.mirren at Stark’s. We were the better team on the day, even after Jean-Phillipe Javary got sent off. Paul Tosh scored with 5 mins to go and I was happy to leave then as had a wedding reception to go to. Got to my car and had the radio on, just pulling out and felt happy, until I started driving. Raith 1 - St.Mirren 2 Big Guido shat his pants and dived over the ball when Yardley was near him and he trundled the ball into the net. 2 minutes later they scored again, Loy from outside the box I think.

K.Mitchell, E.Ross, R.Matthews, S.Brown, A.Connolly, D.Corr. Hamilton should be back today. Of which Mitchell, Ross, Matthews and Connolly are injuries/occurrences from the end of last season.

Yet Matthews in his 1st game back was allowed to play for 90 minutes. Great management that!!!! Ross is finished at the club doesnt even get a mention in interviews. At least know that Connolly should be back in the next 3 weeks. How long are Corr, Millen, Brown, Matthews out for. A couple of days or weeks.

Matthews practiced fine the whole time, so was allowed to play the whole match, which exposed another niggle…can’t say I can see how to blame the team for that.
Broken Algorithms
It's pretty much laughable how fucked over we get by injuries every single season. Maybe there's a bias because we're tied into the club but it feels like we somehow end up worse off than every single team.

You nurse players back give them 45 mins, 60 mins even last 20 mins not a full match.

So...like giving him 45 mins in the Linlithgow game? Which was his actual first game back.

Forgot he played in that game. Nevermind he should have been given time to get match fit.
SirJimmyofNic
The games one big yawn so far
Raith Against The Machine
Easton doing a good job as the 8 here, giving much more support to Sam Stanton than he had first half against Kelty. East Fife very well organised so far, really limiting what we can do in the final third.
TxRover
Excellent test for us to try to break down East Fife. Hamilton quiet on the attack, but already showing defensive credentials on the set pieces. Masson looking good, with Watson vocal in coaching him…McGill looks comfortable at RB.
RAITHROVERS84
Powderpuff stuff that’s a mile off the level needed. Masson, loves to shove and give 2/3 fouls a game in dangerous areas. Watson strong but negative pace. EF a couple of tidy players aside you can tell are shi1te at the back, need to pick the pace up and rip them open.
renton
Made the mistake of breaking my self imposed friendly embargo and bought the Rovers stream. Fairly low voltage game. Mullin's deliveries look decent, Easton and Stanton doing OK in the middle but without the pressure on them that any competent championship side would exert. McGill, busy as always. Nothing particularly to be gleaned from a fairly nothing performance. Can only hope injuries clear up quickly.
SirJimmyofNic
Training exercise to all intents and purposes, not much else you can take from it so far, apart from being a tad lackadaisical at times

Agree on the less pressure, but it’s giving us good practice trying to break down an in depth defence. 7 minutes ago, RAITHROVERS84 said: Powderpuff stuff that’s a mile off the level needed. Disagree on Masson. 4 minutes ago, SirJimmyofNic said: Training exercise to all intents and purposes, not much else you can take from it so far, apart from being a tad lackadaisical at times True enough, for both sides. But important to start getting Hamilton back to match fitness and see McGill at RB.
Raith Against The Machine
Just now, TxRover said: Harsh. Disagree on Masson. It's objectively true that Masson has given away at least two fouls in dangerous areas by shoving Nathan Austin in the back.
CountryBumpkin
Only his first game but Hamilton's first touch is honking when it's played into him. Expect better from a player at this level.
