Ex Machina
Hope David can get up to match-fitness quickly and knows how to put the ball into the back of the net. Nine games in and only scoring from open play in one of them (albeit three in that game but was versus Hamilton so cancels itself out) is a brutal return.
pub car king
I'm not concerned about Potter signing players if they are the players the manager wants. What does concerm me and it last season to an extent is how much he's involved day to day and on a Saturday. For me he should be nowhere near it.

Disagree, we don't have the budget for specialised coaching staff (of which there should be 3 or 4) so naturally others need to chip in and cover a few roles. Having Potter assist with coaching and provide an overview from the other side of the pitch is fine, as long as the manager makes the final call on all coaching and player decisions. Should the same be said of Fordyce who's helping coach set pieces too?

Nah, the begining and end of our issues rest on our casual summer recruitment, where we signed Stevenson and Hanlon, then assumed a striker and winger would show up and never did. That window is everything. f**k that up and the season is null and void.

Experience is clearly just a euphemism for low energy and declining ability. You can see that by the signings made by Collins (and Potter when he was caretaker), all have pace and energy, we could probably do with something similar in midfield as we're lacking there. Byrne might be a Rolls Royce of a player but he's a Rolls Royce with a lawnmower engine. Brown has energy but lacks in the distribution areas at times. Same with Matthews.
Brashy's Boots
We're slow in attack. Jamieson has some pace but isn't direct enough. We're slow to build and slow in the final 3rd. We've no-one who can burst free, or panic a defence by attacking at speed and as a result, we end up shuffling round the box with the opposition all back in defence. Jack Hamilton played well again today, winning most of the balls towards him and some great flicks, but christ on a bike - he's a no.9 - and I could (maybe) have run from row TT and slotted that chance in the 2nd half. What a miss. Stanton's return might drive us on a bit, once he and Broony get up to speed, but if the no.9 is passing up gilt chances, we need to change the no.9. The sooner David gets fit and we get a look at him, the better.
Keyser Soze
The standard of refereeing at this level is just f**king abysmal, that guy today must surely have had QP on his coupon.
Jilted John
Jamieson won’t make it as a full time player. He’s so ineffective. I hope we haven’t entered into one of those agreements where we are duty bound to play him. Pollock, apart from an impressive debut, had offered nothing either but starts every week. I hope Gibson was injured today and not just surplus to requirements. For me, he’s the only wide player who’s shown any capability of making a difference.

Should the same be said of Fordyce who's helping coach set pieces too? Depends if they undermine anything/anyone. He was heavily involved in the transfer business. Also how much of an input did he have in binning Ian Murray? He is director of footballing operations and must have realised the timing was horrendous. Did he make representations, was he in favour of it or is it f**k all to do with him?

Don't see any evidence or reason to assume that's the case, so probably not? 1 minute ago, pub car king said: He was heavily involved in the transfer business. Yeah, that's in his role. Works with the manager and scouting team to identify targets based on the requirements of the team. 2 minutes ago, pub car king said: Also how much of an input did he have in binning Ian Murray? Probably some, as the technical director he would have greater knowledge and insight into what's going on. But the overall/final decision wouldn't be anything to do with him. I don't believe Potter is anywhere near the problem which is how we're playing and how we're struggling on the field.
FitbaSupporter
LLDWLD Don’t you just love a new manager bounce?
Jilted John
I notice that Potter isn’t involved in the railway stand on match days anymore plus I hear that Ian Stewart, has been ‘replaced’ too. Collins definitely seems to be shaking things up off the park but needs to start showing a difference on it.

It's inevitable that a new manager is going to change personnel and the way things work. Regardless of "the structure" that Barrowman was keen to talk about during the never ending story that was Collins recruitment.

He had gone but resurfaced post Goodwillie when the club was desperate for people to help out on match day as most folk had walked away. Only a volunteer though so not sure Collins would have had anything to do with it.

Jilted John
Apparently Collins wasn’t happy with the ball boys lack of urgency and organisation and wanted someone else in charge.
pub car king
So have we brought in some sort of ball boy guru like a Mr Miyagi type to revolutionise the multi ball system.

Interesting. Was always a bit of shambles under Stewart so good he’s picking up on even the small stuff
Offshore Rover
I believe the ball boys or whatever the politically correct term is, had some training with a presentation etc to tell them who to throw the ball to etc in certain circumstances etc. Not sure who done the presentation
