Scottydog
Stephens birdies used to be great. Fairly meh in comparison now to what they were a couple of years ago.
Michael W
Do they still have the Carlton in T-hall? Always look to get one of their fudge doughnuts when I'm up. Seem to recall that the Mercat one shut, making a visit to the high street even more pointless. There's a small Stephens selection in the shop near where my parents live, but the fudge doughnuts just aren't quite the same. Stephens have the best rolls, though. Wardy
Yup agree with Michael, Stephens rolls are quality, especially well fired, but morning rolls are great too, especially with bacon. But Carlton take the prize for fudge donuts. Absolutely tremendous.
Michael W
The Carlton in the Mercat was open when I was there the other week. I was almost certain it had shut. Did a quick search and found this - http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/news/local-headlines/shock-as-kirkcaldy-baker-shuts-shops-1-2343191 Good to know it's back, though. Yup agree with Michael, Stephens rolls are quality, especially well fired, but morning rolls are great too, especially with bacon. But Carlton take the prize for fudge donuts. Absolutely tremendous. They are expensive, but well worth the money. I usually tend not to pick the well-fired ones, but it is good to have the choice. I do miss the bakeries in Kirkcaldy.

Scary Bear
Stephens birdies used to be great. Fairly meh in comparison now to what they were a couple of years ago. Yeh, they seem to have changed the way they make them. They are not as flaky pastry as previously.

cowdenbeath
Yeh, they seem to have changed the way they make them. They are not as flaky pastry as previously. Aye and reduced the actual meat content in them, still decent but not as good as they used to be.
HoBNob
Had a bridie when I was back up north a few months ago and they were exactly the same, glorious.

liam_barnett
Queen of the South and Morton away both on Alba - link. I wouldn't mind so much if they were Saturday evenings like the Stranraer v Pars game tomorrow but this Friday night thing is a pisstake for matches that aren't exactly local!

Scary Bear
Queen of the South and Morton away both on Alba - link. Great news for armchair supporters...like me. I'll catch them in the house or in The Novar. They are December games so presumably crowds would be down anyway.

Virtually no chance I would've travelled to either of those games.
