The School of Law has a lot of direct links with other Universities on top of whole-of-university places and I think something like 40% of LLB students go abroad, even if just for 6 months. They advise you to do the full year though. No real desire to go abroad at this point, to be honest. If I'm going to do something abroad, I'd look to do a post-grad. Btw, "RuG"? Supras Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Nice one. I didn't apply for Study Abroad but from what I've heard the School of Law applications have been quite brutal. Lots of interviews in the last week or so. To be fair, if you didn't get the top grade in a Foundation Standard Grade paper, you'd have to be monumentally incapable. The interview process was brutal, even for skiving business students. I was told it was informal but was then subjected to a three pronged attack by a lecturer from another subject, an gratuitously sarcastic social science coordinator and the women from the international office. My answer to why I wanted to move to Australia was 'the weather here is shit.' And my response to why I should be picked ahead of other candidates was pretty much 'I shouldn't.' Two of them are 'interactive lectures' with the great Finlay himself. Get in. Managed to get in Finlay's tutorial group for History of Scotland 1832-1914, a happy day. Got 65 for the Modern Political Thought essay and 74 for Contemporary British Governance. I got 5A's last year which was a massive surprise consider I was predicted all B/C's.Really struggling this year though, failing NABs and everything. I've vowed to have this sort of forward planning every year since I started Secondary school. Even if you fail everything in sixth year (I assume you're doing some SYS?) you will still benefit from it, as any first year science stuff will seem like a piece of piss as you'll remember it, even if you fucked it up the first time around. ----------------------- The advert for the training place I want just went up, so need to spend a few hours making sure it's absolutely perfect. Gotta love Stirling Uni. I picked what I wanted my seminar times to be as soon as the timetables came up a few weeks ago. Logged onto WebCT yesterday morning and found they're not running with one of the seminar times they said they were, so had to pick a new one, which meant rethinking my whole timetable as the new one clashed with another one... K.Thacker Aye I was saying to Dave yesterday. Try and get a team in. It gets played one night a week on the pitches outside the sports centre.
