does anyone have any doubt after today?

owning the TT after dominating in the mountains and also setting up a sprint win for a laugh in between.

out the 60 possible 1-2-3 places from the 20 days racing so far sky have claimed 16 places which is 26.6%. that is ridiculous.

Any doubt about Sky being a very good pro-cycling team I presume you mean? No, none at all.

To be honest, while none of us really have any idea whether any of these guys really are doping, there is a decent case for Froome, having shot to prominence in the Vuelta last year from almost nowhere. Beating Cancellara in the first TT was difficult to believe.

I've no problem believing Wiggins though. He is a TT specialist, so it's no surprise to see him winning TTs comfortably with the two best other TT specialists out. He has improved in the mountains, without being miles ahead of everyone else, because that's exactly how he focussed his training. Add in the fact of his excellent team doing everything they can to help him (regardless of whether the others are doping), and I can accept it's legitimate.

silly other riders not focussing their training

wiggins was climbing with the autobus for years. you don't have to be richard virenque to get in the break but he showed no climbing ability whatsoever until 2009.

what we saw today was again unbelievable. before the race the chat about wiggins was that he would take time in the TT but lose some in the mountains. instead we've seen him gain time in both.

i've yet to see anyone give a reason as to why that is no longer true other than that they think the sky mob seem like good guys.

I may be way over the top here, but I think the fact that no Sky riders have tested positive for anything so far is a pretty good reason. Anyway, excuse my lunacy, let the hatred continue.

It's really just a matter of who you want to believe. Good luck to the lads that believe everything is rosey now.

The changes that Sky made after a poor first season, getting in dotcors and backup staff from teams that systematically dopes over a number of years, really hasn't helped their cause.

I'm not a believer because I'm a cynical b*****d. The last grand tour winner I have any faith in is Greg Lemond and that's going back a long way.

It's going over old ground of course but just because riders pass tests doesn't mean they haven't been doping: Exhibit A - Lance Armstrong

 He needed to improve in the mountains to win the tour, so he focussed his training on improving in the mountains. What's difficult to understand about that?

Maybe they are doping, maybe there are not. But one thing is for sure, some posters on here are going down the very dangerous road of saying everyone at the top is doping, because they have to to be at the top. It's a self-fulfilling, unprovable argument that assumes guilt as the starting point and makes sporting competition pointless.

general rule of thumb me and my cynicism go by in cycling-if it looks too good to be true,it is.

doping controls tend to play catch up with dopers.i think we'll see bans a few years down the line from this years tour.sorry if this upsets a few people if it happens

Do you really believe that Bradley Wiggins is going to challenge for the overall lead, and they say the cyclists are the ones on drugs. Wiggins won't finish near the top 10 again never mind challenge for the yellow jersey.

Good post, well worth a bump with 27.5kms to go

This weeks More Or Less podcast has a scientific look at the power outputs on this years tour. It's available free on iTunes or on the bbc website.

Er, they're all clean :D

Was that ever in any doubt? Cav starts the sprint early, catches everyone cold. The only one to challenge was Goss and let's be honest, he had no chance. Soon as he realised it he sat up, I think Sagan took 2nd. Four in a row.

Haha, fair doos certainly eating a bit of humble pie. Never expected to see Wiggins win it and what he has achieved is incredible, however I do really feel for Froome who was by far the stronger of the 2 and if he hadn't to ride for Wiggins he'd most likely have been in yellow himself, but it is a team event.

It is without doubt one of Britain's greatest ever sporting achievements and what a Tour for British Cycling with the number of stage wins, particularly by those in the GB road team (4 out of the 5) which sets us up nicely for the Olympics.

No it isn't. Bradley Wiggins name will go down in the record books. Not Sky Procycling.

You've missed the point about that statement, referred to Froome having to "take one for the team" and ride for Wiggins because he is team leader.

Grand Tour riding, infact all pro road race cycling is very much a team event and if it was an indivdual event Wiggins would not have won the race.

Of course its a team sport in this context, but that doesn't strengthen any contention that Froome would have won had he not been supporting Wiggins to the yellow jersey. He has said himself that he learned a great deal during the 3 weeks, and no doubt some of what he learned came from Wiggins. Maybe their placings are bang on based on skill and experience.
