I have never been that interested in the Scottish cycle scene so dunno if any important races have used the Tak in the past...Any time I've done it, it has been from Carronbridge...

I've been reviewing the routes to see if any of my KOMs are going to disappear.. think they are obscure enough to be safe. 15 hours ago, kiddy said: "I've rode km after km of pave, on the roads to Roubaix, but have you seen the cobbles at the Ford on the Tak? I've seen a couple of folk come off the bike on the ford.

kiddy
Remco just phenomenal in TWC RR. Cant wait for next season to start, the #NewGeneration have most certainly arrived! Looks like the GT’s are going to be ultra competitive & hard to call. But will they all try to avoid each other?

I'd have to create a new segment of strange paths to get a KOM.... I'm normally in the last couple of pages.. Mrs BiD has suggested an electric bike at my age... not until these legs give up. Can anyone post the main Road event route if possible?

That’s yer lot so far as the UCI are declaring. Looks pretty posh with only a decent of the Crow Rd & city centre laps to finish. https://www.cyclingworldchamps.com/news/2023-uci-cycling-worlds-set-for-stunning-road-races-amid-scotlands-most-iconic-landmarks/?utm_source=twitter_cwc&utm_medium=social 0EF3FFDC-3BB6-4AF2-B804-AB82352ABAD2.webp

Hopefully the roads will be resurfaced first.

Looking forward to it though... Find a spot on the route even if they just fly by....

printer
I've registered to volunteer. They let you know later this year if you have been successful. Was tempted to lie about the diversity driven questions, but didn't. Haven't done any cycling volunteering before, but have three or four times for golf, including the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, which was a brilliant experience.

jaggyness
I see there was a huge hoo-ha over rumours ineos made an approach for Evanepoel. I think he's probably ineos only prospect of getting someone who could challenge for the tour.
Bob in Denny
Enjoyable Il Lombardia 'monument' today, Pogacar as expected made it two out of two. Is it just me that thinks that the Italian races are a better spectacle than the the Belgian ones? The Belgian ones are of course, tough going compared to the smooth roads of Italy (apart from Strada Bianchi)... In other news, SEVEN of the W52 FC Porto team suspended for doping, bans from 3 to 7 years... HERE (cycling news)
