Firstly, as sad a situation as this is for the family concerned, the hotel are under no obligation to refund. It isn't their fault, and they have sold the room. They could choose to offer a credit, but they don't have to (and it isn't clear if they did or did not). Not a fan of going to social media to try to shame a company, simply because you don't get the response from them you want. Secondly, the pile on the person making a pretty valid point. This is, ultimately, a great example of what insurance is for - to cover unexpected / unfortunate scenarios and leave neither party out of pocket. Like going abroad and then bemoaning the cost of getting ill and having no insurance, it's really not up to anyone else to cover the cost if the worst happens and you've not considered covering yourself. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
