Audaces Fortuna Juvat
Recommend getting along to Tut's next weekend - Monster Truck, Scorpion Child and Buffalo Summer, all for ten of your pounds.
keyser_soze
Sometimes it's good just to get back to the basics, guitar, bass, drums and a hell of a lot of Marshall's

11thHour
Metallica debuting a new song called "The Lords of Summer". Sound is decent but not brilliant but the song sounds really, really promising. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7Dk_gCbeT0

Mik
Great track! sounding really promising, can't wait to hear it at knebworth
poang
Hmmm Great intro and a monstrous riff but it still feels about 2 minutes longer than it needs to be. The solos a bit wah wanky but then that's been Hammett since about 1996! Really impressed by Lars though, which some is something I never thought I'd say. Can't really judge it on lyrics or melody based on the quality of videos available yet. So I'm cautiously optimistic. But I'd rather have another Load or Black album than another album of great riffs forced together into 7 or 8 minute long songs that are painful to listen to because of their shitty production.

Mik
Well, Red Fang were f*cking top notch last night! Surprisingly the first time i've ever been to a gig in the Classic Grand. Must say it's a great wee venue, the acoustics were brilliant, no real hassle to get to the bar and as an added bonus they serve Joker IPA on tap Next up: Monster Truck/Scorpion Child on Sat @ King Tuts

Tonight mate - well worth a visit if they have the same two support acts - great value for money.
DavieCFC
Did anybody go see Overkill on sunday? They were fucking fantastic, first time they've played in Scotland in the 30+ year existance. Even the shitty venue couldnt ruin the night. Still think the garage would have been a better choice (The cathouse was probably as packed as ive ever seen it for a gig) The support band Xentrix were pretty good, enjoyed them. The 1st band Shrapnel were you typical 21st century thrash band, some nice riffs and hooks here and there, but very patchy. 1 or 2 good songs, the rest generic and forgetable. Quiet year for gigs so far, nothing on the horizon as far as im aware.
