Ira Gaines
Chucking idiotic wages about because another team is doing it definitely sounds like a good idea IMO

Shodwall cat
Has anyone ever seen Ross Countys accounts over the past few seasons. I presume they have been making losses year on year with Sugar daddy paying them off but would be interesting to know how much he's having to invest regularly.
RC55 FFC
Ross County should not be offering 5 times the wages of Falkirk Football Club on half the support. The whole point of closing the academy was to increase first team resources. I'm struggling to see how we can be doing that if we're offering 5 times less. Say the 100k per annum saved goes on the 1st team, Ross County with that chairman willing to increase budgets via his own money (and not taking it back) alongside the £250k parachute money, they could well pay 5 times what we can for individual players. Especially for a select few they are desperate to get.
Bairnardo
Aye its been an exciting 10 days right enough. Whilst as I've said I'd rather wait for quality than just sign championship jobbers, pre season training is on the horizon and we're nowhere near a decent squad. No pace, width or creativity at the moment and we still havent resolved the right back situation which has plagued us since Keiran Duffy left. We also don't want to end up with a pile of players turning up unfit having had no real pre season training. I doubt County are really spending much more cash than United have over the last couple of seasons and they've done feck all with it. Lindsay for instance was part of a team that somehow managed to end up below a piss poor Partick side last season. Yip. Its time to turn on Hartley IMO. Someone sound the change avatar klaxon! HARTLEY OUT, HARTLEY OUTet cetera -

RC55 FFC
Budgets don’t necessarily win leagues as we have seen, Hibs being the exception, and you just need to look at Livi last year to see how a well managed team/squad and the right acquisitions can work effectively.

Only a matter of time before Uncle Roy gets bored and leaves them to rot.

Who said they were offering 4 or 5 times more than Falkirk? You're quoting a Morton supporter, who admits he doesn't even know for certain Lindsay was the player. As also suggested by RC55, Lindsay has an obvious connection with RC which would have probably been a big factor in his decision to sign permanently there having been released by Celtic. Getting players to sign at this level comes down to one thing only, hard cash. So whilst it may be suspected that Falkirk have missed out on first-choices because they did not offer enough, I certainly would not criticise them if, for example, they lost out in a straight fight for a player to Ross County. Their chairman knows only one way to run a club, chuck as much cash as required at it. It's a ludicrous model.

It’s not a multiple of anything. We could of course, offer a fifth.Anyway, if Ross County are offering players £2k a week, that’s up to them. Given that as a collective, their income doesn’t come close to being enough, then their chairman is stumping up the money. If that’s the case, then it puts pressure on the players and the manager. Here’s hoping they implode.

HARTLEY OUT, HARTLEY OUT et cetera Whose turning on the manager? I'm just saying that it would be nice to see another couple of new faces at least for the start of pre season training. If as we expect some of these 7 or 8 signings are going to be loanees then you probably won't see them appearing till nearer the start of the season so it would be good to get the permanent signings done early doors. Lets face it County are always going to have to pay over the odds anyway to get players to move to the arse end of beyond . Who in their right mind would want to move their in the first place without getting a load of cash . Shodwall cat
I wonder if we should get Harris referred to some US doctors to see if his utterly pish performances last season we're perhaps due to a constant state of concussion?
