I took F45 up on their offer of a free week trial and just had my last class today.

My word. Recommended for anyone who 'enjoys' high intensity circuit training.

You not doing that daft crossfit anymore?

That's planned already. Could Always finish the walk off with a hotdog from the wee stall at the kirkgate emoji23.png

Then a couple of refreshments at the Central after.  What better way to round off a nice walk in Edinburgh.

Na, I just did their 4 week challenge to see what it was all about. I enjoyed it but there's no way I was paying what they wanted plus the intensity wasn't enough I thought - too much time between exercises at times.

F45 was hardcore but I won't be paying them what they're asking for either. Probably isn't too bad value but I can't justify that and a gym membership.

Hoping to build my own little gym this year so I can keep all my hard earned for myself.

I started with a PT this week. My mental health been shite for last year and I’ve gained a lot of weight. Expensive way to do it but I see it as a kick start and routine building.

You're sounding like an aussie already, how long you been over for there?

3 years tomorrow. Back in Scotland next though with hopes of continuing to do some training while I'm back but knowing in reality it will be a week long bender.

Good time to do it as the days get a bit longer and brighter and we all get a bit more energy. Best of luck with it!

Bring a gum shield and some hand wraps and head for Edinburgh.

I’ve done it all myself in past but wasn’t happening this time. Walking kids to school in morning and back to the house knocks out 5000 steps. Better weather makes this easier too as it’s easy jump in car and drop them. It’s about 1.2 miles to their school.

Mind we had the chat about whether or not you should correct someones deadlifting form.... Where do we stand on telling the fucking morons who go for max incline on the treadmill then hold on to the handles and lean back that they are wasting their time, and that they are very stupid?

Just ban them from the gym.

Looking for a little advice myself. I seem to have plateaued on weight in a few areas. For example, my bench press has been stuck at 65kg max for about a month now despite working on my chest at least once a week.

I don’t think I’m just doing shite workouts. I am always by myself so maybe suffer that I don’t push the weights too high and end up with a barbell stuck on my throat. But any advice on how to push it up a bit? Not just bench press but in general.

The one and only time I have ever done sustained weights was a few minths doing 5x5s. Maybe go to short sets of big heavy weights?

Do dumbbell bench press then you can max out on your own.

Mix up your workouts. One week do heavier weights with less reps. Then next week do lighter but more reps. Use dumbbells and bar. Also if you are wanting to increase your strength then increase your calories
