Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

This Rangers 'tragedy' has probably brought more listeners to Clyde, BBC Scotland and Real Radio: I flick between them for a laugh a few times a week while normally I'd never tune in.

So the fact is the OF bring in business to the media!

A foreign gentleman called Andre was on tonight (unsure on which station), outlining why the OF need the other clubs more than the other way round. He asked the panels opinions of his points, and was ignored and cut off.

Noticed on the TV guide earlier that Channel 4 are showing something over the weekend called Bad News Bears. Is Alex Thomson trying to beat the BBC by making his own Rangers documentary?

If anyone knew Whyte wasn't paying them, who should they have told? The taxman?

How about all the employees at Rangers for a start? The police?. The papers? I know there's a stigma about being a clipe but given that or watching your club sink further into the mire what would you do?

McClelland and Greig resigned and stated it was because Whyte wasn't giving them information. That was a pretty big public message and a big step for Greig in particular. Bain was one of a number of directors etc who were sacked because they opposed Whyte. Even the SFA panel report acknowledges that Whyte kept things very close to him. The big deal is over the tax bills Whyte didn't pay. If anyone knew Whyte wasn't paying them, who should they have told? The taxman? They obviously knew their bills hadn't been paid....

Surely the club was receiving phonecalls and postal reminders (or were these addressed "Mr Whyte: For Your Eyes Only") about unpaid tax. Of course they knew and this is why the SFA is taking them to task.

Aye, its called 'whistle blowing' (as distinct from flute playing).

Haha. They're getting excited on RM because one of them received this reply from Tesco:

I appreciate that it is frustrating and under normal circumstances I would be more than happy to provide you with an in depth and detailed response. However, on this occasion we are under instruction from the corporate press office.

Do they not realise this is a token rgesture as their complaint is not about a product or service.

Certainly in my work anything like this would be met with a "Please refer to our press office" type of response.

Oh they could...and making it even better/more embarrassing for Scotland is that the green bigots that think the same agenda exists but with the prodies at fault.

At times it's hard to believe it's 2012 in the outside world.

That's an intersting point. All this must really screw with their paranoia. Hope they're having restless nights too.

The "Reasons to be Cheerful" thread in the General Nonsense forum has had just over 2 million views. It was started in 2006.

This thread has had 1.9 million views. It was started on 13 February 2012.

It was on SSB, not long after Guidi was outed (as previous posters mentioned) about more or less admitting to needing the OF in the SPL to protect weegie journalist jobs cos they'd have nothing to write about otherwise. Guy put forward a perfectly reasoned point. Guidi was on about it being a romp for Celtic with nothing to write about if there was no challenge for the title.

The guy said that in that case even without all the other clubs it would still be a 'two horse race' so basically the OF need the other clubs to actually have a league to dominate, or something on those lines. A few seconds of silence, quickly followed by 'click'.....

Indeed, presumably at the time Rangers had:

A payroll dept

An accounts dept

An invoices dept

Lets keep things in perspective and remember that this is really just about a sports team basically being given a slap on the wrist for cheating.

That guy is so intelligent he even manages to spell Hateley wrong.

It beggars belief that folk like that actually believe it is all down to religion. They cannot get their tiny brains around the fact that respectable members of the community, some of them no doubt protestant, have looked at all the facts and came to an honest conclusion

Really, just do your worst pondlife. Be it boycotts, mad public disobedience, burning effigies, whatever. Scotland will stand by and will mostly point and laugh. As will the whole world.

Edit to add - it doesn't take a great leap from posting the above to thinking that a letter bomb might be a jolly jape.

By extension, I find it impossible to believe that the SFA didn't know what was happening all along at Ibrox.

Glasgow's a small place; the Glasgow business community's small; the Glasgow football community's small; look at the shared office bearers between Rangers and the SFA. They knew, officially or unofficially, and did nothing.

Scottish football is corrupt to the core.
