wunfellaff
I see St Mirren just can't help themselves. Still no *EVIDENCE* that Sky or ESPN are bailing. Still no explanation why they voted "No" while secretly requiring SFL vote "Yes". Still no shame. It is the one time in the whole mess that has made me glad re not having one body. There would have been a stitch up to protect newcorpse, but having the SFL is bit like the Commons having the Lords to approve stuff. Does make me wonder if having the one body is the correct asperation
WeeHectorPar
another belter from RM. the gift that keeps on giving Rangers Fans Ordered To Have 100 Lashings by Spew Rear-gun's Nemesis Quote Spew Rear-gun, the Scottish Farcical Association (SFA) diddy Chief Executive, has ordered that all Rangers fans receive 100 lashings for their unwavering support of the resilient Glasgow club. This follows a series of bizarre penalties from the bungling man in charge of Scottish football where his authority appears to be unquestionable regardless of legality. One such bizarre decision is the announcement on Friday 13 July 2012 in which the NewCo (that means a new company, a new legal entity) are likely to face further punishment due to the OldCo's (that means, the old legal entity, that has already been punished) problems. Although there is a clear legal distinction between the two legal entities (OldCo and NewCo) as well as the other legal entity (the individual fan), Mr Rear-gun believes that the 100 lashings should prevent "social unrest" and will protect sporting integrity. All Scottish clubs have voted in favour of this punishment on the basis that it continues to punish the Rangers community. The St Mirren board were unanimous in their support of the punishment even though they aware it will destroy their club in the short run. The Invermess CT board have hailed the new punishment as the correct moral action to take. In other news, Invermess has also called for a Meeting of Creditors to announce that, as a result of their vote, the club will go into administration and may be wound up. Several other clubs including Donedee Utd and Killmarnock, have bypassed the unrealism of administration and announced Section 98 meetings to wind up their club voluntarily. It appears these clubs spent beyond their means depending on the source of income from Rangers – there has been no mention of the buzzword 'sporting integrity' by anyone whatsoever. Rangers' first fixture of the 2012/12 SFL season kicks off against Peterheed, while the SPL season has been cancelled due to the lack of clubs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6idHmoe5EM

There would have been a stitch up to protect newcorpse, but having the SFL is bit like the Commons having the Lords to approve stuff. Does make me wonder if having the one body is the correct asperation I've always maintained that you should have 2 bodies... an association and a league... for exactly the reasons of checks-n-balances. Not only can they concentrate on different areas of the game where they specialise, but the association can act as a watchdog on the league, while the league - by merit of its independent sovereignty - guards against untrammelled dictatorship from the association.
Londoner
That article says the payment due in august to SPL clubs could be shredded...on what grounds?! Because Doncaster and Regan got defecated on by us all?
wunfellaff
Thats bollox. Its been on the cards for a decade. Even The Rangers Tax Case blog started March last year http://rangerstaxcase.wordpress.com/2011/03/28/what-is-rangers-tax-case-all-about/ Rangers’ tax problem goes back to the 2000-2001 financial year. A tax plan was purchased from the Baxendale-Walker law firm and Rangers dipped their toes in the waters of a tax scheme which would, a decade later, place a cloud over the solvency of the club. The scheme, an Employee Benefits Trust (EBT), can be operated legally. So let us look at how an EBT is supposed to be operated. Then we shall look at what Rangers FC have done.
FFC_GJS
You have to laugh at some of the pish in the gossip column today: 5 clubs in administration, £120m lost to the Scottish economy as a result of no old firm derby, Giovanni Di Stefano saying Rangers should never have gone into admin and the funniest one Rangers being in division three making us vurnable to match fixing. The media in this country really is a joke.
Dunning1874
Stewart Gilmour is always someone I've quite liked. Okay, he's at our rivals, but he's always seemed to me to be an excellent chairman who's done good things for St. Mirren, the kind of chairman most fans would like to have at their club. Someone who cares about the club and gets them living within their means. After this though, complete and utter c**t. At least Johnston was perfectly honest about not wanting to lose Rangers. Petrie and Gilmour are coming out of this looking much worse, having paid lip service to sporting integrity to appease their fans then proving that they couldn't give a flying f**k about it in their shameful attitude towards SFL clubs.
HibeeJibee
That article says the payment due in august to SPL clubs could be shredded...on what grounds?! Because Doncaster and Regan got defecated on by us all? I think we're all supposed to believe SPL has no cash in the bank *and* Rangers being in SFL3 not SFL1 will cause every TV firm/sponsor to pull out, meaning the £645k basic pay-out ceases to exist.

Stagmaster
Don't know if this has been posted before. Apologies if it has. From Dumfermline Extra: Kelty Hearts stalwart Stefan Winiarski will have completed more than 10 years at Kelty this season and a deserved testimonial match has been arranged against The Rangers which will be played on Wednesday 27th July at Central Park. This match is sure to catch the imagination of the people of Fife and Scotland as this could be one of Rangers first games of the new season since their demotion from the SPL. Stefan and Kelty Hearts have also decided to donate a percentage of the gate money to the Rangers Fans Fighting Fund which is a great gesture. ------------------------------ Looks like Sevco's pre-season is getting them prepared for life at the bottom. You'd think the RFFF would be too proud to take a man's money from his own testimonial but hey, every penny counts when you are skint.

Stagmaster
Polite question: Are you guaranteeing that Ross County do not get relegated? If so, then the logical next step is to consider whether the SPL is in fact a rigged league, a bit like WWF or its 1970s equivalent on ITV..... I am sure Mr Doncaster Cockwomble wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. We are now living in the 2010s, not the 1910s, after all..... With kind regards, PA We will never be relegated, We Are The Sheeple
p&b is a disgrace
Honestly can't believe I'ld never heard of Turnbull Hutton before he told the currants to do one, the guy's become a legend and the more you read of him 'telling it as it is' the more you have to admire him. He's always said exactly what he thinks - and its not always been popular with some of our fans. But I don't think he's ever not be right on the money ( ..... cue a series of Rovers fans proving me wrong! )

Agreed, and you can't have the league appointing and placing referees, and adjudicating on appeals. Killing off the failed SPL experiment is all that's required.
