Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Selling 30,000 season tickets in any league is impressive.

Getting a 50,000 crowd at a fourth tier game is very impressive.

Having a previous history of averaging 45,000 or so at home games is more impressive yet.

Having that capacity and going completely titsup to the point of liquidation (even excluding the dodgy taxation policy) and ending up in the ownership of a speculator , at best, takes some doing.

Doing all that whilst maintaining a WATP philosophy and spewing hatred, bile, blame and revenge on every body in view.... that's hilarious and that's why we're all pointing and laughing.

I'm struggling to think of a singularly more embarrassing episode if I'm honest.

What would you put forward?

What about " wullie Johnson thrown outta world cup 1978" now, who did he play for again? Maybe not quite on the same scale, but it hit the headlines worldwide.

He was at West Brom in 1978.

Look at the Bears who post on this site. Now we obviously have a few wee fannies - but look at the long-standing members here. Do you see many, "spewing hatred, bile, blame and revenge"? I think not.

It's easy to portray us as fat, drunken, wife-beating, sashed-up Orange b*****ds. The truth is duller and much more prosaic: we're just ordinary people who like our team and like football.

Please forward this to all MSM outlets - it sums up the situation perfectly.

Green says he has investors that will put a lot of money into the club and bring in the best players they can. Yet has never shown proof of these investors or their money. Ofcourse, we get a lot of bluster from the man about guys such as Mike Ashley, and foreign businessmen, but nothing ever concrete. Just enough to keep the fans on the edge of their seats waiting for a securicor van full of cash to park outside Ibrox.

If any large amount of money were to arrive at Ibrox, it would not be used to buy "star" players. Let's face it, your 'van Persies' won't come to the SFL 3rd. This money (were it ever to arrive) would be salted away in a phantom "war chest", only to be spirited away when the opportunity arose. The only way out, bar league reconstruction, is a long, hard slog up through the divisions. Green and his 'backers' don't want that and neither do the fans, despite what they may say. 2nd liquidation soon enough.

That's the problem though, isn't it?

Rangers fans like yourself, Knightswood Bear and No 8 (on his good days) seem to be few and far between, in my experience at least. While most clubs will have a minority of fuds amongst their support, Rangers fans seem to be the reverse, or the vocal minority (if it is the minority) are so vocal, that you all get tarred with the same brush.

Other fans accept that what has happened is very hard on the honest fans who have effectively p*shed their money up against the wall for 140 years while dodgy businessmen f*cked your club. We also understand the head in the sand mentality, at least for a while, but what makes the whole situation so unbelievable is the lack of realisation that everything has gone tits up, and that the business plan appears to be exactly the same again. Unsustainable expenditure v reduced income - it didn't work under Murray, it didn't work under Whyte, and yet it seems everyone should accept that it will work under Green. I'm no betting man, but my bookie says it won't.

On a more lighthearted note, I just saw a chap on Byres Road in a Rangers top with "Whyte 1" on the back - either this is an extremely brave WUM or a total irony bypass!

Maybe destroying two cities in two European finals !?!?!

Oh please. Get a sense of proportion. Places like Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Coventry and Dresden were destroyed. Clydebank was blootered.

Not making any excuses for us - but, "destroying two cities"? Just calm the f**k down.

Pity you chose a team synonymous with sectarianism and violence. You guys are in the minority. Deal with it.

Don't be even more of a fud, we are talkin about the rep of Scottish football here, not the history of the world.

Ah maybe you've got the memory of a goldfish and forgot the guy who said, "Maybe destroying two cities in two European finals !?!?! "

Sorry to remind you but some of us can actually scroll back and read previous posts.
