There you go. Gas turbines don't need a starter motor. They just need air. The QC will be inviting you as an expert witness in his next case. The blind leading the partially sighted.

I'll bow down to your superior knowledge then Flight Sergeant Kinky.

How's your journey getting back to the top then?

On you go Norman. How do internal combustion engines start? On fucking air?

Oh look, Kinkys widening the definition and trying to deflect from another fúck up. They can use many initial power sources, including elbow grease. The method used in modern aero engines* uses compressed air as its catalyst.

*Gas turbines, for the avoidance of doubt and to help you out.

You could put a 14v battery gun on this and crank it over though surely? [emoji23]

If you have ever been at the airport and watched a big jet engine start up, you know that the blades start rotating slowly. The electric starter motor does that. Then you (sometimes) hear a pop and see smoke come out of the back of the engine. Then the engine spins up and starts producing thrust.

Google says fcuk you billy bigbaws.

Your a clown, as some one who's ground tested engines, changed them, repaired them, and worked on R&D on new engines you have no clue. A jet engine (or gas turbine engine) needs air to start, to spin it's HP compressor.

You could generate enough compressed air to start a fleet of Trents at the one time
