Reading over Mr Glib&Shameless' latest outburst there and was struck by the fact that he appears to have shifted from being the saviour with copious personal cash that the berrz were hoping for, to a bloke waiting to see how many others stump up lumps of unwanted cash before adding just enough of his own to be the controlling stakeholder? A stakeholder who has publicly stated his willingness, no, intention to spend excessively to achieve past glories. A proven path to extinction?

Not a surprise to all outside the madhouse of course but surely even the fawning apologists can now see his great plan/scheme/scam is utter baws.

Or am I putting credit where it's not due...? (See what I did there? ;))

EDIT: removal of one smiley for gravitas....

Thanks, GR. I've been searching for the mots justes to describe the plans Mr G&S has been spouting - and indeed the responses from the Kraydales et al.

"Utter baws" it is.

Shame there's a "Global Family" too thick to know when they're being rubber-dicked again (and again, and again...). You'd think someone would tell the poor wee berrz that some of these businessmen might not be telling the whole truth when talking about their goals...

Oh, that's right. We did. Diddy fantasies, and 'tic wet dreams were the order of the day. I particularly recommend the protest over the BBC's Whyte Documentary as good for a chuckle. Or the history still easily visible on blades forums.

Total facepalm moment on sportscene on Sat night when the presenter announced that Rangers don't speak to the BBC. Bunch of weans.

....New shirt sponsor. A gambling firm.

How deliciously appropriate.

Roll up! Roll up! Roll up! Place yer bets on survival now! Best odds here!

Three year contract - now that is a gamble.

Seems like yesterday ibrox was going to be a supercasino with a hoverpitch - now they're whoring themselves to the bookies.

It appears that 32Red also sponsor Crawley Town and Newport County.

Sevco's deal rumoured to be a thumping 350K per year.

Big club ma erse. :P

I love the arrogance of the man.... this is just a rangers fan, a rangers fan though, who played a major part of the old club dying. He holds no shares in the new club (afaik), neither does he own a season ticket (afaik).

He is a convicted criminal, a "glib and shameless liar", however, he is held up by the press and fans as "he who would be king".

He has gone from self proclaimed mediator, to the guy who will plough 30 million or more (if required) back to someone who will not invest and would rather someone else did. but if he does invest, it will be ring fenced for the team.

i love this question...

"Does the board agree that in the latter half of December 2013 it was in discussions to obtain finance that would be needed prior to the end of the current season?

He's already told us it was him, but the club wouldn't accept King's terms, that his money would only be used on the team.

God yes! Those Minty Moondreams......

One assumes that each tranche of the contract will be payable at the END of each season ....just in case.

Even more hilarious when you remember that the reason why Rangers don't speak to the BBC is that the BBC are the only media organisation that they can publicly snub without getting a long-running and poisonous press vandetta in response.

IIRC the Beeb are banned for reporting exactly the same story that all the tabloids reported, in a far less lurid and sensational way. But Rangers couldn't ban the Sun for reporting that story, because the Sun would've spent the next year running headlines like "Clueless Ally - too stupid to manage football team?" and "Shyster spivs rob Rangers fans blind".

The BBC can't run headlines like that, due to their guidelines, which is why they're banned, and the tabloids aren't. Hilariously, this act of utter cowardice was wildly popular with a certain section of Rangers support.

If that was the olden days the Record would be running the back page headline "Ally's 7 Figure Warchest: Rangers have signed a 3 year sponsorship deal reported to be into 7 figures."

I always thought the BBC were persona non grata at The Deathstar due to the amateur shiteyness of Chick Faeces interviewing abilities......(oh, any old excuse to fire up this YouTube classic...Archie Knox is priceless 8) )

Humorous clip, that one. You can just smell the raw dignity pishing off the boy, can't you?

Also, on the tabloids and the Beeb - the Sun and the Record are more than willing to run ludicrous propaganda puff-pieces about hover-pitches and orange taps that they know are nonsense, in exchange for future favours.

The BBC aren't allowed to do that and so amazingly, when a story comes out that the Rangers board don't like, it's the BBC that gets banned while all is forgiven for the red-tops.

Obviously, this is "acting on principle", an act of ferocious courage.

Berrz are a buzzin' :D

"denyaToday, 02:36 AM

Good news. I doubt the board would have went with a deal thats worse than the one we currently have, the article stated multi-million pound deal soI would say it's better and at the worst then the same as we already are on at 800k a season. At least the board aren't sitting on their hands and are being proactive about the sponsorship situation."

".....Multi-million...."

If any positive can be taken from Rangers' woes at least their support can show they have moved on from most peoples' perception of them being arrogant; stuck in the past in terms of bile and bigotry and most importantly given up their hilarious tendency to attempt to bully and intimidate 'non-compliants'

Oh hang on......... :unsure2:

Not sure about this deal to be honest, the fact that they aren't boasting about how much it's worth gives me the feeling it's worth significantly less than the current deal..... black on red, could be trouble!!!!!

After the Adidas and Dallas Cowboys deals fell through, and the refusal to reveal how much the Puma and Blackthorn deals are worth. I think it's safe to say they are not earning much from the commercial side since the relaunch in the 3rd division

Commercially the Scottish game is struggling celtic apart... You only have to look at the shirt sponsors on all of the kits..motherwell-cash converters...st mirror - blacks.. Aberdeen - team recruitment - Inverness - orion group......etc...

And all the above clubs have had to take out Wonga style loans in order to make it to the end of the season/ST renewal date.

Oh, no, hang on....
