Monkey Tennis
Amazing stuff from King today. I'll resist the urge to predict another insolvency, because it really might not pan out that way. To have the chairman however - given recent history - talk of overspending on purpose, is just, just astonishing. Why on earth is there a tolerance among fans for such mental talk? Why won't he name a figure that he intends to see reached, by a combination of ST sales and his own group's "investment"? Even if this guy didn't have the back story he does, that should be ringing alarm bells. It's honestly incredible that even after all this, no Rangers figure can say that they'll aim to balance the books and then see what can be achieved on the field. Seriously, that club is institutionally bonkers. Edited June 8, 2015 by Monkey Tennis

bennett
"Why won't he name a figure that he intends to see reached" I remember pulling my hair out when Murray used to come out and announce exactly how much we had to spend and clubs demanded more for players. While celtic always kept schtum abiut how much they had and played hardball.

dave.j
So, The Ashley loan being in place, is a reason King gave, for not investing his money, he previously promised to invest? Someone confirm I've understood that, please.

Yeah, that's the issue you should be focusing on after King's patter today... -
AberdeenBud
There's got to be at least a few bears out there alarmed by this? Would it really be that crazy to say we're not gonna spend more than we bring in? They've just seen Hearts absolutely romp the league and humiliate them with a fraction of their budget and this is the response? Genuinely unfathomable.

They spent so wildly they got liquidated. The re-birth then lost staggering sums of money very quickly. They then get the regime change they wanted who then commit to a policy of overspending. You could not, nay would not, make this stuff up.

One shirt for every ten men women and children in Scotland. Seems glib and plausible.
