Harold and Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay 54%

An okay enough sequel, Neil Patrick Harris's cameo was like in the first film the best thing about it imo.

Worst film I've ever seen, it's not funny in the slightest.

I think I would happily pay to see both John Cho and Kal Penn disemboweled. That would make me laugh, heartily.

Blood Diamond - 10/10. Fantastic film.

It was good as I mentioned a couple of posts up. It lost a point for the constant "Huh?" throughout. That fair got on my tits.

Clerks - 4/10. It was fairly annoying for most parts but I didn't think it was too badly scripted. Started on Clerks 2 as well but fell asleep as the director introduced it and spoke of Clerks also.

The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus (2009)

I'm generally a fan of Terry Gilliam's imagery and output - Time Bandits, Brazil and Baron Munchausen are all fantastic films IMO. This though was a bit of a disappointment. The plot was a bit flimsy and while it touched upon themes of identity it really didn't say much at all. The Imaginarium sequences were also fairly weak and while the animation within is endearingly "Gilliamesque", it also seemed a bit cheap. The final sequence where Colin Farrell is involved is better and combined with the ideas in Inception perhaps hint at how it could have been a more challenging and thrilling affair.

I suppose with Heath Ledger dying in the midst of if all made it difficult to get it to hang together. It does gain a point for Tom Waits performance as the devil.

Shrek 2 (2004)

No cartoon will probably ever better Shrek (well Lion King did but that was before it), but this was still brilliant. These films aren't meant for kids, they're clearly made for film geeks, as every second joke is a nod to a classic film!

It also had the most profound line, which I feel I will be using at some point!

"Donkey, you HAVE the right to remain silent. What you lack is the capacity. "

Pearl Harbour 45%

Didnt mind the things in this movie outside affleck, beckinsdale and hartnett. Ruined by a pishy pointless pedantic love triangle being inserted into a epic disaster, with such an awful sub-story and acting towards it at had me at times cringing.

District 13 ( 2004 )

This is just a big dumb American action movie. Except it's French. That really is the only difference here. Dumb plot, big explosions and lots of fun. The main characters are likeable though, and the villains are nasty b*****ds. The set pieces are good fun and the acting is good too. All in all there's no complaints here.

Lethal Weapon

MARTIN FUCKING RIGGS!!! Thats all you need in a film.

10/10

No Country For Old Men

One of my favourite films. Chigurh is one of the greatest movie villains ever, his enigmatic persona becomes quite creepy. Tommy Lee was superb in it aswell. I truly gripping watch, I genuinely started watching it on the couch and by the end i was inches from the screen waiting to see what happens next....even though I've seen its about a dozen times.

Defiance (2008)

Loses the point from a perfect score due to Daniel Craig being a crap actor and being totally outshone by Liev Shrieber and Jamie Bell.

9/10

I've seen 7 Jamie Bell films (Billy Elliot, The Chumscrubber, King Kong, Flags of our Fathers, Hallam Foe, Defiance and Nicholas Nickleby) and I while I haven't loved everyone of the movies I thought that his acting was outstanding in all of them.

A single Man - 7 / 10

outstanding acting by Colin Firth in the main role, thought he and Julianne Moore carried the film, ending was very weak imo

The Hurt Locker - 7.7 / 10

was really exciting for most of it, bit dissapointed with the ending aswell on this

Requiem for a Dream - 10 / 10

brilliant acting by all, for effectiveness this is probably one of the best film to send a message

a few god men - 7.5 / 10

really good acting in this by the leads, Demi Moore is stunning aswell

The last King of Scotland - 7.8 / 10

both leads are fantastic in playing both of their very unpleasing characters

The Road - 7 / 10

brilliant acting but was a little plain for my liking, though the story was good

the score - 6 / 10

decent crime movie with 3 outstanding actors of their generation in it, twist was really predictable but worth watching

Eastern Promises - 8 / 10

really good film, really surprised i never heard of it till very recently

A Single Man ( 2009 )

It's rare to find a movie so well made and so well acted that is so utterly lacking in emotion. What is it with this ? The movie actually seems to capture the feelings of Firth's character brilliantly. It may well be that the movie was a bit TOO underdone at times. I simply wasn't into the movie.

The A Team - total popcorn nonsense, but thoroughly entertaining. Flying tank, anyone? And folk actually get injured with bullets in this as well, unlike the TV series! BA was a bit of a non-entity but I guess he's not renowned for his acting ability!Face and Murdock, however, were excellent. Film - 7/10. Jessica Beil - 11/10

The Karate Kid - or as it should really be called, "The Kung Fu Kid". Does the original decent justice and Jackie Chan is actually not that shabby an actor at all. Bit long though! 6/10

Toy Story 3 - Yep, a cartoon but absolutely outstanding! And yes,I had a tear in my eye at the end. "MISTER Lord Evil Pork Chop to you" 9/10

Cop Out

I think it's gonna be a film that'll grow on me. Wasn't hugely impressed and the plot was not great, I mean, a baseball card? Couldn't they have made it more dramatic than that? I know it's an action comedy and Kevin Smith never fails to get a chuckle out of me with his dialogue but still a rather weak affair considering he's got Bruce Willis to give dialogue to!

A good few 'homages':P are included as well, the Die Hard one being my particular favourite.

I'll give it a generous score as it'll grow on me - 6/10.

Casino

Need I say more?

10/10.

Goodfellas

As above, both are my favourite films of all time along with the Godfather Trilogy (Yes, including III as I see it as all part of an engrossing story.)

10/10.
