I’m not saying he’s terrible but he just doesn’t have the tactical sense to be able to take us into the top league. Perhaps it isn’t his fault entirely but since we came up from league one our squad has started every season missing players of the required quality in certain areas or positions. First year, defence and a backup keeper. Second year, only two recognised but unproven midfielders. This year, losing a commanding centre half a goal scorer and McManus and then trying to shoehorn new players into positions or formations they can’t play in. To compensate we then had to. First year, signed Morris, Clark and McMullan and left out players deemed good enough who then went onto other clubs in the same league and did better. Fordyce and Reilly. Second year, we waited until we looked like we were heading for the relegation playoffs then brought in an entire new midfield and it worked tbf. But ultimately we chucked it away despite cruising at United. I reckon we would have beaten Livingston and gave Patrick a scare or possibly beat them. This year, we sign two great players in the Longridge bros. Left back has been a revelation his brother is great on the ball but I’m not sure where he fits in? Is he a striker/midfielder or wide player? We drop Higgy despite him being the heartbeat of the team and the focal point for goal kicks. He also brings out the best in Williamson. Signing Hippo seems a little daft, he’s a good player but I can’t see him continuing as a striker so now we have two superb right wingers. Aiden Connolly seems decent but lightweight and hasn’t got a chance yet really. The midfield seems ok though and overall better than last season once Beadling comes back. The defence is a total mess though. Without Morris guiding Williamson he’s all over the shop and Durnan/Devine were failures at their old clubs. Why are we using a system they aren’t comfortable with? Get back to a flat back four and put Ashcroft beside Williamson and play Higgy in front for protection. It looks like we will have to bring in another centre half and a penalty box striker either now or in January. With a full squad we could try this in the meantime Robinson/Murdoch Craigen Beadling Ashcroft Longridge Vincent Higgy Thomson Longridge Faissal Hippo We would be strong defensively but it would mean taking Beadling out of midfield where he could be handy. It’s his best position probably. We could really play over a dozen formations and lineups and have a very good amount of attacking players and should make more of early subs. Why not try Williamson as a right winger for 30mins against a tiring opposition? It’s looking like a difficult job to sort out and kudos if AJ can fix it without signing more players. I can see how though? You just flat out make shit up. The manager isn't faultless (and there are a couple of points you make that are valid), but you've not only gone massively over the top, you've invented stuff. You're basically lying for some bizarre reason.

DA Baracus
First year, defence and a backup keeper. We had a backup keeper and we had plenty of defenders. We actually had a decent defence, consisting of Fordyce, Martin, Ashcroft, Morris, BRE, Talbot and Williamson. Fordyce going on to do better. So much better than the team he signed for finished below us. Twice. Making out that Reilly was good for us and letting him go was some sort of mistake. He was given plenty of opportunities with us. He started numerous games and made numerous appearances from the bench. He scored 2 goals. Looked like we were heading toward the relegation playoffs. We weren’t close. Morris has gone from bombscare who costs us goals to the guy who was holding the defence together. Durnan/Devine were failures at their old club. So then surely were Ashcroft and Morris? Why are we using a system they aren’t comfortable with? Except for the games they were comfortable with it. It looks like we will have to bring in another centre half and a penalty box striker either now or in January. Why? We have plenty of players who can play centre half (5 by my reckoning). We also have Ryan who can play as a ‘penalty box striker’. Get back to a flat back four. We did this at 1-0 down on Saturday.

Fordyce going on to do better. So much better than the team he signed for finished below us. Twice. He got a game and held his place, how far below were they. Ten points? Making out that Reilly was good for us and letting him go was some sort of mistake. He was given plenty of opportunities with us. He started numerous games and made numerous appearances from the bench. He scored 2 goals. I didn’t say he was good but that we didn’t get the best out of him. That’s up to AJ. Looked like we were heading toward the relegation playoffs. We weren’t close. We were on a terrible run of form, we were bottom of the form table for a period. Morris has gone from bombscare who costs us goals to the guy who was holding the defence together. He kept Williamson steady that doesn’t mean he wasn’t prone to the occasional brain fart bombscare. Durnan/Devine were failures at their old club. So then surely were Ashcroft and Morris? Ashcroft played in his playoff match with Killie. Beating Falkirk. Devine cost Patrick a place in the top league. Why are we using a system they aren’t comfortable with? Except for the games they were comfortable with it. Against the mighty Brechin and Stirling and a shite Dundee side. We’ve lost nine goals in three games it isn’t working. Playing a flat back four will take one or two games to settle Ashcroft said that the heads went down after 1-0. You can see by the reactions of Ashcroft and by Devine on sat that there’s something really wrong with our defence. They’re not happy with the formation.
P475
FFS, calm doon guys. There's still a long way to go. Have you forgot the two performances we put in up in Dundee already? Remember how difficult we made life for hearts too? Thers a good team in our ranks, we just have to wait until it reveals itself.

Poet of the Macabre
D.A.F.C is the most reactionary Pars poster on this site. The utterly batshit things he comes out following a defeat tends to totally overshadow any sensible points he makes. Stuff like "we were bottom of the form table for a period"; as if anyone cares about that if you finish top four. We've had a couple of bad results in the league, that doesn't mean everything is a disaster and we should rip it up and start again.
