Aye a lot of southern hemisphere guys in there now. I’d imagine Ross McCann will have a posh Edinburgh accent as our Lewis has one. I think all them lads were born and raised in Edinburgh, they just qualify for Ireland through one of their parents.

Stellaboz
Lewis played rugby up until his late teens I believe. Probably why he's got a great physique

Probably why most of his shots go over the bar…

Just noticed that one of Scotland's best wingers has pulled out of the first two games due to injury, only to be replaced by Ross McCann, the older brother of Pars striker Lewis. Two professional footballers, capped at international level and an international rugby player. Not bad genes there! Had no idea Lewis had another brother, let alone one that is a Scotland/Edinburgh rugby player. There is in fact another. Who was with St Johsntone U18s last year and won the CAS Cup before being released and signing for Burghmuir Rugby and then going onto win the Scottish Rugby Youth Cup in December. Talented bunch
101
Sad to see Greg Shields leave the club, his enthusiasm was infectious. However Head of Professional is a crap job title. Feel Joe Cardle is someone folk would want in but feel we need someone more like Shields background in development, maybe even a German/ European academy specialist?
Cardle is Magic
Be interesting to see if they advertise the job publicly and if so, what they’ll be specifically looking for from his replacement.

Sometimes they stick job ads on LinkedIn. I wonder if Crawford would be interested, obviously why he came to us first time round and clearly has an eye for a player to help with the recruitment beyond the academy.
DAFC.
Was having a wee swatch at the old Pars pics on the East End Bounce forum. I never knew a semi final of the Scottish Cup was played at East End! 1991 Dundee United v St Johnstone. Very random!

I have luck in that after our episode way back near the start, we chatted after our recording. I won't break any confidences but he loved working with the youth players and seemed to be the perfect lad for the job. His time in America helped with that tremendously.

We’d better hope they don’t read this thread on EEB forum. Many of these guys were right about the whole Masterton thing while many didn’t even know what was going on, now these guys are posting this. Things might not be as rosy at the club as I thought https://www.eastendbounce.org/topic/6619-greg-shields/
Wacky
I’m more than a bit perplexed about this TBH. The new owners have banged the drum about the whole youth academy thing, they even asked Marvin to hand over the funds she generates from her wee hub/shop to the youth team, yet the laddies parents are driving the kids to games all over the country? It’s all very bizarre considering the Germans academy ethos. it’s worrying that like me, many Pars fans could have their eyes wide shut. I hope the guys get the answers they are looking for at this meeting on the 30th. I’m sure they won’t hold back letting the wider Pars community know if things are as they seem.
Stellaboz
There's a part of me that thinks this is total BS and just very thinly veiled racism from a minority who think they know better. However, I really have no insight at all to what's going on inside the club. Concerns need to be answered, and they have been so far IMO by Cook. I honestly can't imagine there are any serious issues.
Chubbychops
If folk in the know have concerns then I hope these concerns are put to the board and the board give some honest answers in return. It gives me the fear a wee bit as it has an air history repeating itself before Masterton got outed. I feel this academy is going to bring more problems than answers to be honest. It's sound s like a money pit, when we don't really have much money. This is a project that could've been started if we reached the Premiership and we were a bit better off financially. We need to get the first team in a better postion before pumping money into a youth academy. Bigger wealthier clubs in Scotland are not exactly producing a prodcution line of great talent from their academies. I'm sure they will have better funded, further reaching set-ups than ours too.
North West
Breaking down their high level vision/plan into more detail might help fans understand where we hoping to go with things as a club.
