Sol Bamba has sadly passed away according to a Turkish journalist. 39, no age at all.

Shocking news. Was a great lad and that's so young

f**king top guy.

Was great for us but had a run of genuinely shocking games (the famous three just before Kenny was sacked) which was amusing as he was clearly so much better than our level.

He went to Hibs and proved he was so much better than their level too (and that's not meant as disrespectful to Hibs).

Really good player. Played in Serie A, Turkiye's top league and the EPL. 46 international caps too.

African Cup of nations finalist as well.

1 Appearance in the French top flight as well. Won’t be many Pars players that will play in 5 top flight leagues. Class act.

Just seen the news, absolutely gutted, Sol was a top guy and a genuinely enjoyable footballer to watch during his time at the club.

For a 21 year old who couldn't speak any English when he joined us, he made a huge impression on the fans and it was really satisfying to see him go on to have a tremendous playing career. I remember watching the Leicester game where he made his debut scoring against Man City which was unbelievable.

Ironically his best game for us was in the Scottish Cup semi final against Hibs, which was probably what made them sign him.

He still popped along to the Pars games when Hibs weren't playing.

RIP big man, devastated you're gone.
