Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Recommended Posts

Poor wee Gav has still not realised the world has moved on. Fife Council's take on the lease and sub-lease of Pitreavie seemed a pretty well-intentioned plan of getting private sector money to help a public sector venture provide sports facilities to the local area at reasonable prices. Gav had a shameful, embarrassing plan to screw over a local sports club. GTF forever you Toblerobe munching, Dignitas dodging, dodgy valuation getting, PIN forgetting, using DAFC as the family business, bill dodging dinosaur mutha fucka. Onwards and upwards Pars.

If Basterson defaults on Pitreavie, don't start hand wringing about the public purse.

Fife Council Community Services have created a 'trust' which means that they can spunk millions building new leisure centres and renovating others, so taking that place back on board is not the end of the world.

Someone earlier mentioned the drainage at Pitreavie, this is due to the network of burns in the locality never being culverted/upgraded.

This brings me onto the Carnegie Leisure Centre, this facility is losing hundreds of litres of water per day due to a leak at one of the refurbished pools.

Perhaps the council is waiting for the water levels at Pitreavie to rise sufficiently so as to match the level of Carnegie, then the losses will be negated.

Sounds like council logic.

Gav has his say about today's verdict. Astounding.

Pitreavie is a fine place, but what he infers is polishing a turd.

"It is then to my real surprise and regret that Fife Council would not even consider such an opportunity

And mastertons (Murray's banker btw) and this world class training facility that's now blown out the water because a league 1 side won't be there five morning a week!!

Is anyone else going to the Ideas Forum at EEP tonight? Remember it starts at 7pm in the Kingdom Suite! :)

I'm just back from Berlin after a weekend trip and I'm up at 6am tomorrow so will have to pass. It will be interesting to see what ideas are produced from this evening and the 17 page document detailing the plans.
