kiddy Posted October 7, 2018 Share Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) Just watched all this having put it on record & gone to bed. Fight went pretty much as most predicted (Connor early or Khabib late). That Khabib managed to get it to ground early doors pretty much negated the threat of McGregor. However I was surprised by Connors defence, limiting his opponents ground work, as much as I was by Khabib standing & trading in the third. Had Khabib edging the first with the take down, clearly the second with the knockdown & the third pretty much even. As soon as the first opportunity for the choke appeared, Khabib capitalised on it, bringing the fight to an end with the submission. A clear win by the route many had predicted. As for the #fightafterthefight, Bisping pretty much had it summed up quoting his own experience, that Khabib may well run into Visa problems entering the US in the future. UFC wise, he's maybe the top fighter, but he has the charisma of an empty cardboard box. A ban/stripping may be the least of his worries, but Tony Ferguson summed it up after fight when he said Khabib has the title, but McGregor is the money fight. He knows he's on the next L/W main event. Could be the only one of Khabib & his crew to be able to enter the US, will be Ali Abdelaziz! Aye, #Legacy, right enough. Posted October 7, 2018 Share Posted October 7, 2018 Don't follow MMA at all, seen an "expert" saying Khabib was so fired up for this match that the one sided nature of the win "wasn't enough" of a victory as he was so desperate to smash McGregor, that anything was going to trigger him even further in the immediate aftermath. Seems mental that folk can get out, and in, the ring so easily tbh, bit saft but any chance they put a top on the rings following this? buddies1877 Posted October 7, 2018 Share Posted October 7, 2018 No surprise to see religion spoil another sport.Connors trash talking came back to bite him this time.The scenes at the end were made a much bigger deal of as the fight itself was pretty boring khabib taking Connor down so early tiring him out in the end frustration got the better of Connor as he tried to wriggle out khabib took his opportunity to finish it where he was in full control of the fight.Khabibs team let him down big time they should be banned from ufc for good he needs guys that will be their for him to keep him cool not to go get their own cheap shots on a beaten fighter.Would rather watch Ferguson mcgregor next that would be a great fight to see.
