Or how about the fact that I actually do know a bit more about the state of the club right now than you do?

Publish the facts and figures then instead of just making out like you know more than others and/or others are living in fantasy land.

I'd expect the club to do so as required in law at the end of the trading year.

If they want to release interim figures or make an interim statement then that's their decision.

Failing that you're free to have the discussion with the board who make themselves available on match day.

This might sound like a daft question but do you think the fact that his mate has just been sacked from the role would stop Jim Duffy taking the job?

I'd be surprised if it did, tbh. I originally thought Duffy would've had his eyes set on someone bigger than us anyway, but it certainly doesn't seem out of the question given he nearly went to QP.

Looking forward to the Ross Forbes article :)

You're a mad man! :thumsup2:lol:

I think it's overwritten garbage to be honest, but my backside has gone numb and I've not moved for three hours - so it'll have to do. Give me a minute to quickly proof it and I'll fire it up.

It'll make for a nice read on the commute home!

Brace yourselves. Here we go. 3,378 words on Stevie Aitken's tenure as Dumbarton Football Club manager. I've probably missed a few things out, but hopefully nothing glaring.

Let me know where the typos are by the way, my eyes are going to dissolve if I look at a screen for much longer.

Also, some lad on FB just said Loy has been struggling with a back problem, which is why he wasn’t included on Saturday (still find it odd he wasn’t listed as a doubt on the OS, but there you go).

If, and it’s a big if, the new manager can get the Rory Loy we’d hoped for, it’ll go a long way towards rescuing our season.

That lad works for C&G so I would imagine he knows Loy.

On your second paragraph, not Paul Hartley then?

Ah, interesting

Apparently Paul Hartley is not a popular man among the BoD at The Rock, so I can' t imagine he'll be getting the role even if he wanted it (which I doubt he would).

This is a fair point.

It would be helpful to see some solid evidence to support the 'minutes from oblivion' line that we've seen on here with increased frequency over the past several weeks. At the moment we can only rely on anecdotal contributions from anonymous posters on an internet forum - and they assured us there was no way we could afford to dismiss Aitken.

Perhaps we do have major financial issues but until the club or the trust address the support directly then it's all just heresy.

I wouldn't want thr wee tadger anywhere near us. I'd actually rather see the beluga Houston given it before him (also not happening IMO).

heresy
ˈhɛrɪsi/
noun

  1. belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious (especially Aitken's Army) doctrine.

Absolutely not, he got his comeuppance for refusing to give the ball back in that game at Dens. Houston is on par for being a shitebag, I wouldn't want him any more than Hartley.

On the basis that I was one of the reps who were involved in the series of meetings between Brabco, the club board and the trust board, I can categorically state that the limited information I know about our financial position  isn't hearsay.

Aitken's first competitive game at Cappielow feels like a lifetime ago. We were absolutely blistering that day for the vast majority of the game. Fitness levels looked incredible and the way we attacked and pressed the ball was so refreshing. Even Grant Gallagher looked great that day...
