Exiled
Lister's season with Airdrie(onians) doesn't seem to be going to plan, and Jon McShane isn't getting a lot of love from the Accies fans on here. I don't know about signed contracts or anything but would any Sons fans have either, or both of them back at the Rock if they became available?
Jan Vojáček
I wouldn't take big Jimmy back,he was superb last season but I doubt he could do it again this year. I wouldn't be averse to bringing McShane back, he's certainly a better option than Nish/Smith and has plenty of experience at this level,he's still relatively young too.

Jan Vojáček
Jamie Longworth at Stranraer seems to know his way to goal, what's the script there ? Think he's contracted to the end of the season with them but if he continues to bang in the goals he could be a decent signing. He's a PE teacher aswell so it would be unlikely he'd want to go full time.
Jordo1872
Not sure about McShane. He doesn't seem to have developed the way I thought he would after his initial, and very successful, spell with us. He's a big lad though so if we're looking for someone in the Lister/Nish mould he'd certainly be an option. Not sure if he'd go pastime though, assuming he's on full time terms at the Accies.
The Elephant In The Rock
Hamilton have released Ryan Finnie. Would definitely sign him but he'd only realistically be back-up.
Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Wouldn't waste a wage on Finnie tbh. Wouldn't touch McShane either, he's been shite since he signed for Accies.
Sweet Pete
Loved Finnie when he was on loan with us two seasons ago and thought he looked a really natural talent in the full-back/wing-back/winger role. Surprised he never really got into Hamilton's first team consistently. Would be happy for him to come into training so that Murray could get a look at him. Not convinced McShane could be much use at this level. I wouldn't be against us moving Nish, Smith and McDougall on next month and looking to tie Barry down for the rest of the season and get another centre forward signed and maybe another defender if at all possible.
Jan Vojáček
Pretty shocked that Finnie didn't get more of a chance at Hamilton he was only 16 when we signed him and he didn't look out of place at all,an excellent player. I'd definitely take him back especially with our lack of defenders. Smith is like a young Stevie Murray in stature now (although considerably taller) so if one of them picks up an injury we're screwed. I don't know how they do it but Hamilton seem to produce some excellent players (McArthur,McCarthy,Finnie,Kirkpatrick,Ziggy Gordon). Shame we very rarely see a youth player become a first team regular, although Coleman and McKerracher could well break through soon.

Finnie was semi decent with us but I certainly wouldn't be comparing him with the likes of McCarthy and McArthur. Utterly miles off that sort of standard. If we signed him he'd be nothing more than backup to McGinn. Waste of a wage IMO.
ayrunitedfw
Kevin Smith not doing it at you'se? We were linked with him in the summer and he was offered a deal with us so we may move for him if he is let go by you lot. Alan Lithgow has been one of the standouts for us this season. Great player

C'mon_the_Sons
Should we be worrying now with the appointment of Kenny Sheils at Morton?
squeezebox-son
Think it is safe to say that the only real signings we will make in January are likely to be loanees. I would expect a couple of our players to go out on loan also. Unfortunately that tends to mean your time with DFC is over. Can't remember the last player - outside of the youth/younger players - who left on loan and actually came back to play competitively for us. Smith and Nish seem past it, but Murray may have confidence that they will come good. I'd like a striker, defender (preferably central) and midfielder or two to come in. But only time will tell.
Frank Quitely
So what's the script on the injuries to Agnew, Turner & Kilpatrick ? The OS never seems to carry any news or updates on injuries.

Just because they are over 30 doesn't mean they add 'experience'.
The Moonster
Nish had one decent game and Murray has been awful recently. They add nothing. Just because they are over 30 doesn't mean they add 'experience'. I just can't agree that Hugh Murray has been awful. Both of them add experience, they've spent the majority of their careers playing in the SPL, of course they bring experience. That doesn't mean they will always have a good game. Hugh Murray has been far from awful and I'm not sure what you expect of him? I've seen you say a couple of times that he doesn't tackle, which is just not true. It's the main reason he's in the team and I think when you take Murray out the team you'll realise the protection he offers us. Just think how many teams completely over ran us in midfield prior to Murray arriving. CT and Agnew need someone like Murray sitting behind them in order for them to be allowed to control the game and the fact that Agnew is out injured just now is hindering us. I'll agree on Nish, he's had one good game against Morton and not shown much else.

However, after his return, I feel he has been poor. He has been backing out of tackles and looks like he just can't be arsed. I may be expecting too much due to him being brilliant earlier in the season, but he certainly hasn't impressed me recently.
George Parr
. He has been backing out of tackles and looks like he just can't be arsed. This plainly isn't true. There was one moment in the midweek match against Alloa where he went through 3 of their players consecutively - the third of which was a topper of a slide tackle right in front of the dug outs. He was poor on Saturday though.
