Sons' sorrow

Very pleased with this. We've not had an annoying wee nippy striker who's good for 10+ goals a season since Derek Caracary. Good signing. Particularly looking forward to see him having a go at Sevco's geriatric defence.

Would just like a younger centre half (loan?) and a goalie and I think we're there.

We have Joe Coleman, perhaps Muzz thinks he's ready.

Would like to see Joe get a bit of game time this year, by all accounts he was excellent at Kilbirnie and the he was solid when he came on against Thistle. With Muzz, Mair, The Chase and McLaughlin in the squad I can only see him getting better as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see him play a decent number of games this season.

Welcome aboard "Archibald ", has the potential to be a really good signing, delighted I am. I'd imagine graham and Mair will be our central partnership, I hear Murray has never spoke to Joe.

He put him on as a sub against Thistle, so he must have at least said as much as "get stripped, you're going on".

He sent him out on loan to Kilbirnie, so he must have said at least as much as "you're going out on loan to Kilbirnie".

He gave him a new contract, so he must have said at least as much as "here's a new contract".

Campbell sounds like a promising signing. I've no bothered with any of the friendlies so haven't seen him yet.

I hope Fleming grabs any chance to play up top with him. Garry can drop back into the midfield if needed, so hopefully they can form a fluid and versatile partnership. Decent options up front.

Hope we get cover/ competition for Linton at left-back now.

quite possibly, I took it with a pinch of salt myself, personally glad to see him come on against thistle, especially with marko talking him through it, I would like to see more of him, but that may possibly be next season

Likewise I thought it was good to see him come back from his loan and get a bit of game time last week. Looks a promising player, fingers crossed he'll become a first team regular at some stage.

Murray keeping the number 1 jersey is the biggest give away. That'll be our squad complete and I'm really pleased with it.

Yes. Agree.

Possibly Sons' strongest squad in decades, we can attract SPL calibre players and guys who also have European experience,,,,,playing for us.

Amazing, considering where we were a few years back.

Why the f**k did you sign 3 keepers before looking for a number 1. Makes no sense at all.

clearly we weren't, but Jamie Ewings has an achilles injury,we don't know how long he'll be out, Lumsden is under 19's, and quite probably will be going out on loan, grindlay I don't think is Murray's favourite but we suspect never found better or never got his target, hence bringing another keeper in.

My view on this is: Lumsden won't be near the 1st team and is for under 20 squad so only really 2 1st team keepers signed. Out of those 2, Ewings has an achilles injury and could be out for a bit. Also Grindlay is due a testimonial so would be pretty rotten of murray not to sign him up as he still a decent keeper at this level despite what some fans may say. Still a bit strange he never assigned the no.1 jersey to anyone but he does seems to want a better keeper than those signed up.
