And in his short time with us, Saunders has been very solid. McGinn was class though, that's certainly true. Saunders the best full back we've had since Craig Brittain? I seem to remember a certain Paul McGinn in the not too dim and distant! It would be tough to single one out as being the best, so I'll retract my doing so with Saunders. I do think Saunders is pretty solid overall though. Granted I wasn't at the Raith game, but away at Hibs I don't think Saunders was bad at all. He was fantastic in our promotion season and as you say, he looked like he could be a real player. I can't say I know what his attitude was like, but something must have gone awry somewhere if he's now in the bottom tier having been so impressive for us and Accies wanting him back after that. If we were to keep him on for cover there and at centre back then fair enough but he's really not impressed me. Positionally he can be all over the place at times and doesn't stop enough crosses for my liking. It's a real shame because I reckon he had the ability (and fearless attitude) to challenge for a first team spot at Motherwell even at such an early age.Judging by what I've seen and heard of him at Ayr he's back to his old self - and he's even added goals to his game! More interested in cryptic emotional tweets, cloud and angel tattoos, trips to Ocean Beach Club (VIP obv) and #newwheels than he is in actually holding down a 1st team place somewhere.
