Don't know if anyone caught the Daytona 24 this weekend, pretty good racing.

Strange finish though, you would have thought the important part of a 24hr race is to let the race run the full 24hrs......IMSA decided to through the chequered at 23hrs 58mins in.

A bit weird. Newgarden looked totally benused.

IndyCar deciding after six weeks to disqualify two cars from their first race of the season: https://www.the-race.com/indycar/st-petersburg-winner-newgarden-penske-disqualified-one-month-later/

to be fair.....this one is pretty wild.  Apparently it was only noticed during practise at Long Beach as there was a fault in race control who allow when P2P can be used., they couldn't get the system to turn on and then noticed that the Penske cars could us the P2P.  That's when they reviewed the past race and noticed that Newgarden and Mclaughlin where on it from the start.

Penske (Tim Cindric) state it was an honest mistake and they had just forgot to change the software....but it doesn't really explain why 2 of the 3 drivers were pressing the P2P on starts/re-starts when they have never been allowed before.  (more to the point, if all Penske drivers knew it was possible, it turns out Will Power is a lot more honest than I thought)
