tinkerbelle
At least if you drink in Cargo you won't have far to stagger home. Plus you will be able to pick up a few pretty shipmates out of there most nights of the week.

Mr Rational
Superb idea if you ask me. Will be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a house, it's meant to be popular down in London iirc.

sjc
I had a boat for a wee while, it was only 300 quid from some mutant in fife. Had it out on Loch Awe once when a few mates and I went fishing. It was fun for a while but it was a total death trap, there were leaks and all kinds. Took ages to get rid of the fucking thing. So aye, I'm okay for boats. However, I was up doing some environmental stuff in the highlands a few months ago and was going through Invergordon when the Caribbean Princess had stopped there. Incredible ship, definitely the biggest I've seen. I'll see if I can upload a photo from my phone. They do require maintaining. If you have a boat on any of British Waterways canals the boat needs to have a valid BSC which lasts for 4years. Some nice boats up on the Calidonian canal.....worth hiring a cruiser from Caley Cruisers for 4days and taking it down to Fort Augustus. Ah ok...good to see my difference in opinion hasn't riled you enough to seek me out elsewhere on the forums though. I am allowed a different opinion, aren't I mhak?
