Seemingly the Steam Black Friday sale starts today - anyone know when? Sod all reductions at the moment.

Bound to be 6pm GMT - that's their usual time for updating to the next day's offers.

Cheers, seems to be up and running now. Stuff I want either isn't reduced or isn't reduced by enough :(

Question for the chaps on here that might be a little more savvy than i when it comes to hardware. Been using CPUID to look at my pc performance when playing the games that seem to tax my pc the most. When playing DayZ mod i find that my pc is on average utilizing 100% of my GPU and 85-90% of my CPU, Interestingly the exact opposite when playing Fallout 4. Those are the 2 games that i really see big drops in FPS. So its pretty clear i need a upgrade, a considerable one at that.

Looking at

 Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI Express 2.0 x16, USB 3.0)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CX4MUCC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2XCIEJ7ANK124&coliid=I14JFUSTKLS75J&psc=1

AMD FX 8350 Black Edition "Vishera" CPU (8 Core, AM3+, Clock 4.0 GHz, Turbo 4.2 GHz, 8 MB L3 Cache, 125 W)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=DKR5504GTPM3&coliid=I1JEQAGD0F1HTZ

Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 RAM PCI Expess 256 bit Graphics Card
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-GDDR5-Expess-Graphics/dp/B01H01E4CQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1481507407&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+rx480

I already have, and will continue to use 8gb ddr3 ram at 1600mhz

Basically i just wanna know what people think of this set up, im happy with amd, have no desire to change to intel/nvidia and im trying to get the biggest bang for my buck

The RX480 is a cracking card. If you'd been looking 2 weeks ago, you could have had my OC Black edition!

What GFX card do you have now?

Free weekend for The Division, base game down to £20, Gold Edition (basically the game with season pass) down to £32. Downloaded it during the night and gonna play this weekend and see what i think of it. Game ive been curious about but never wanted to pay full price for. If i enjoy this weekend i may consider getting it

Apparently the new dlc has fixed a lot of the problems it had on launch and has turned it into a decent game to play.

I'm enjoying it so far. The side missions are hit and miss but the main missions are pretty damn fun. Game that's much better played with a team.

Combat is pretty good, solid cover system
