Ya Bezzer!
The town of Cambuslang takes it's name from Angus Lang, the colloquial name for a local farm hand (real name - Angus MacDonald) who was reputably over 9 feet tall. He emigrated to America in 1859 and toured the States with a circus bending iron bars, lifting huge boulders and juggling up to three donkeys. Before moving to the Cambuslang area, Angus had lived in Biggar who's name also relates to Angus. Former MP and minister John Reid was reprimanded by the Speaker of the House after wearing a pair of trousers made from okapi skin at a Prime Ministers Question Time. Lou Brusch
Bono invented the dog biscuits Bonio but was too self conscious to name them after himself. That's not what I heard! Apparently he trademarked them as Bone-o but the hyphen was often left out, leading to a mispronunciation which stuck
Hedgecutter
In an early attempt to swear fealty to King Edward I of England, Robert the Bruce's father made sure that he was born on the English side of the border, less than 10 miles from the family's Scottish home in Annandale.

Jimmy Shaker
The company which makes (or originally made) Toblerone is called Tobler, and the mountain shaped chocolate have the name Toblerone because they were the first thing the company ever produced. Hence the name, which is very often pronounced incorrectly, ToblerONE. The product was so successful they didn't bother making anything else, avoiding the silly idea of having a product called Toblertwo.

bee thousand
Bob Holness DID NOT play saxophone on Gerry Rafferty's Baker St, despite how many times pub bores insist on telling you - However, he did write the intro riff on Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns 'n' Roses

Officially the coldest place in the universe. The New Horizon space probe to Pluto has so far registered an outside temperature of -274.8 degrees celcius, almost 2 below what should be 'absolute zero'. As it will never return to Earth, scientists may never know whether it is a calibration error or if our fundamental understanding of physics is flawed.
Albino Rover
The idea for the 1929 film "Man With A Movie Camera" was conceived before movie cameras were invented, as a Russian theatre production. It's considered one of the earliest forms of technological science fiction.
EdgarusQPFC
Will Smith Declined the lead role in The Matrix for the Lead role in Wild Wild West, not because he thought the latter was the stronger film, he was fully aware of how successful and iconic The Matrix was to become, its simply that Will Smith is such a fan of Tina Turner and the film 'What's Love got to do with it?' that he genuinely believes that Laurence Fishburne is in fact Ike Turner and wants no association with the man. On a similar note, Laurence Fishburne has never burnt a fish. He cooks a sublime seabass. His cottages pies are dreadful though.
