Every year until 1987, on the anniversary of the Tay Bridge Disaster, a ghostly train could be seen in mid-air travelling along where the old bridge used to be, until the halfway point where it would vanish. This phenomenon stopped when an exorcist scattered leaves on the railway line.

The driver of the train was known as Crazy Craig from Carluke.

The song "My Darling Clementine" was written by Winston Churchill in honour of his wife. He sang it at their wedding in 1908 and was briefly popular before fading into obscurity until it was revived by the cartoon character Huckleberry Hound in the 1950s.

Over 350 migrant refugees have died in a salt mine that connects Holland to the UK via network of tunnels. Additionally, some Firetrap polo shirts carry a 'By appointment to HRH Prince Henry of Wales' label.
