Eureka  is Greek for 'f**k that's hot',

Archimedes did not shout it due to suddenly discovering displacement but due to the fact he had just burnt his arse as his slave had overheated his bath water.

He also sacked a slave for tearing his best toga, that slave was called Euripides.

The terms Uptown & Downtown originate from Dundee, with Dundonian expats introducing the term to New York.

Additionally, although the district of Harlem is falsely assumed to be named after the Dutch town of Haarlem, it was actually originally known as Harlam prior to a large influx of Dundonians.

New Arbroath changed it's name to Bosstown in 1975 in reverence of Bruce Springsteen, but was controversially changed a year later to Boston to celebrate the band Boston's acclaimed new album, Boston.

The town of Keith is not one town but three small villages which amalgamated in 1753. Keith to the East, Fife Keith to the West and Normantebbet to the south.

The word "Keith" is derived from the word Sheith, an early spelling of Sheath :- relating to a weapon, or acting in a weaponised manner.

Other theories relate to condoms and the desire to stop Keiths reproducing.

The infamous 1979 Japanese tourist boom that brought Keith's infrastructure to its knees was a priceless case of 'lost in translation' springing from sudden Cheggers Plays Pop mania across the East Asian island chain.

On a related note Petula Clark's sixties hit 'Downtown' was written after she played the Caird Hall.

Ewan MacColl was similarly inspired after appearing there - he came up with 'Dirty Old Town'.

No reigning Scottish / British monarch has ever set foot on a Scottish island. Although Queen Lizzy 2 has toured the Isles, she has only ever seen them from a yacht.

The single exception was Mary Queen of Scots, only because she was imprisoned in a castle out in the middle of Loch Leven.

Prince Charles was born a women but the establishment needed a male heir so she/he underwent gender reassignment as it’s called now

Then it was called getting yer balls cut off and a manicure ,which when you look at the Windsor’s would be close enough
