underdogunderdog underdog
I liked how we got to know about the characters in the first episode without giving too much away. Will be interesting to see how it develops with the three cops together now.
mrcat1990
I preferred the old theme tune. Agreed, but that Nick Cave ditty at the end? Oooffffft.
Ira Gaines
Shitload of stuff going on. Thankfully, it all seems pretty interesting early doors, but it could do without so many utter fannies taking the big roles. The dead guy is the most likeable by default.
Dee4Life1893
I actually really enjoyed that. Can't see it coming anywhere Season 1 but that's to be expected. Farrell was good, Vaughn was passable. Klitsch was Tim Riggins after he left Dillon and done a tour in Afghan. McAdams likes it up the ass "sometimes". Seriously all the characters interest me with their introductions. Notable menntions for the Irish guy from Sons of Anarchy's Russian accent and poor ASSpen's dad. The last page or so is tragic by the way. Why would anyone read a thread on a show they haven't fully watched?

Early impressions are that Farrell and Kitsch are gonna be fine. Jury out on McAdams. Vaughan still got a bit of convincing to do. Ira Gaines
Farrell strikes me as someone who will just do what he likes to get what he wants, and doesn't particularly care about the consequences. Or if he does think about them, he certainly doesn't care about them.
Ira Gaines
And yes, I was referring to the characters. The performances seem fine for now.
deadasdillinger
Season premiere was all sorts of wonderful. And just to reassert its position as the best looking thing on telly, what about that closing shot?
LinkinFighter
Farrell the best by far.
Quentin Taranbino
I think McAdams could end up being the show stealer. I think she will do just fine. In fact I'm sure all four of the main cast will be fine.
Boghead ranter
Was distracting me a wee bit trying to work out where I had seen Vince Vaughn's wife/bird before, had to look it up this morning. She was DI Anna Travis in the Above Suspicion cop shows.
the jambo-rocker
Solid enough start. Nowhere near as bad as what the critics were making the pilot out to be anyway. They could have made their one destructive flaw of each of the main actors (maybe not so much Vince Vaughan's character) a bit more subtle from a personal PoV. It's also like nobody in a Nic Pizzolatto written show is capable of driving a car without being high in some way, shape or form. JamieT1314
Not buying Vince Vaughn as the Kingpin. Jury is still out on the second series.
Boostin' Kev
The Jury's still out after one episode. Some of the posts in this thread are unbelievable. A load of armchair media critics demanding that actors win them over.
YER SISTERS YER MAW
Quite enjoyed the 1st episode. The accents aren't as strong as they were in the 1st season and seem a lot easier to follow but found the music was a bit too loud in comparison to speech. Had to keep turning it down at the music parts then turning it back up again to hear what they were saying. D.A.F.C
It was always going to be hard to follow up the first series but I'm impressed so far. Farrell seems more believable than Vaughn, early days though.
Shandon Par
I thought Farrell stole the show - whilst everyone else's character seems to be slow burning, he properly out-there unhinged. Biker cop boy seems interesting.
Alan Stubbs
It was The Spanish Apartment I remembered her from, definitely gotten tidier with age.
