Granny Danger Posted December 9, 2014 Share Posted December 9, 2014 Agree with Stu, bottom of the barrel 'journalism'. Someone given the task of putting together a filler piece and finds an easy way to do so by asking the opinion of someone else who obviously knows nothing about the lad but provides enough cliches to build an 'article' around. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I take it the journo approached the sporting coaches and was told to sling his hook. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RandomGuy. Posted December 9, 2014 Share Posted December 9, 2014 He definitely has seen Gauld play, because he played against him on Sunday For all of twenty five minutes... 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
craigkillie Posted December 10, 2014 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Gauld played the full 90 minutes. Unless you think that Aguiar wasn't watching the game when he was sitting on the bench, I'm not sure how long he was on the pitch matters. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mark Connolly Posted December 10, 2014 Share Posted December 10, 2014 I hope the journo also asked Gauld for his opinion on Aguiar's time in Scottish football. Equally relevant. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
the jambo-rocker Posted December 10, 2014 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Lazy journalsim granted, I'm not sure what he's saying is so controversial. He was one of the best players on the day, he could be a top player, but he still has a long way to go if that is to be the case. banana Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 Nice touches and quick, accurate releases from Gauldy. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Miguel Simao Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 Pretty sure it was the number 45 that made the killer pass for both was it not? Heard he was one of the best players in this game though, playing more centrally. Sent off at the weekend though. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Looked like Gauld, though I suppose he doesn't have the monopoly on wee playmakers in midfield. Hard to tell with the potato quality video. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) Call me pessimistic, but how much of an improvements as a player can he be making playing reserve team football in Portugal? I doubt anyone of us know the standard, but I doubt it's higher than player in the Premiership for Dundee United Edited December 23, 2014 by Enrico Annoni 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Venti Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 I think the main thing is he is getting coaching to develop his skills & obvious talent. SPL might give him game time, but probably end up amongst the growing number of 'nearly-made-it's The pass for the 1st goal was defo Gauld, did a few similar through balls at United. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Miguel Simao Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 Paused it on the replay cause i'm a pedantic fud, i'm certain it was Iuri Medeiros, who is also a future #baller. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Thought it was Gauld, as it looked like him. I Blame it on the 144p quality of video though 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
HoBNob Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 The first goal is 100% definitely not Gauld, it's the number 45, if you pause it right at the start of the replay you can see the number on his back and he doesn't look like Gauld. Likewise with the second goal, pause it right on the replay and it's the number 45... Ideally the 45 would be Scottish. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
