Lol

Always a tricky business basing what will happen in a GE on by-elections, but this seems a fairly likely outcome for England and Wales. Labour staying around their 2019 vote in real terms and that being enough to sweep them to a landslide majority, as the Tory vote disappears with a small portion of it going to Reform but the vast majority just staying at home.

Which in turn means you'd think it wouldn't take long in opposition for the Tory vote to rebound and Labour to be scrambling in the polls within a year of government once some crisis or other hits, but if the Tories have done so badly they end up below 100 seats all bets are off in terms of what happens from there, what nutter they elect as leader and how fragmented they become.

They're both as bad as each other to be fair. @DeeTillEhDeh is basically just spamming now.

We aren't though.

I gave a very detailed explanation about why there are similarities with the language and policies of current right wing parties and those in the 1930s.

He deliberately chose to ignore that.

It's utterly pointless trying to discuss anything with someone like that.

I also explained elsewhere why I posted what I did afterwards.

I never said I was in favour of it either.

More made up stuff.

You're happy Reform are doing well. You're not for immigration. You're not against it. You have no position on immigration whatsoever but you're happy to see Reform doing well.

Suuuuuure.

Any chance you'll engage with the facts about under-representation of ethnic minorities in senior positions in Scotland?

Stop making things up. I have said many times I am centre/right.

If you want to name an extremist look at our FM.

Far right zealots always call themselves centre right because they genuinely believe everyone shares their viewpoint and therefore it must be the centre.

Maybe you did, maybe he had a point as well. But it didn't half go on past the point of being tedious reading.

Neither of you were going to budge, agree to disagree, let it go.

They presumably think North Korea is a democracy cos they say they are.

FWIW I don't think Reform are far right, I think they're just right. UKIP are far right. If we use the term far right for Reform we're going to run out of words to describe the BNP and the National Front, and parties in Europe like National Rally.

They're sure as hell not centre right though.

BNP and the NF esp I would class as fascist under Umberto Eco's ten points on fascism.I do see your point though Gordon.

You support Reform and are in favour of immigration? And you're telling other people to read their manifesto?

What is your stance on immigration?

I just heard the Reform candidate for Wellingborough refer to the Tories as socialists, in which case you could probably label Reform as cuddly liberals.

Something slightly different.

Maggie with only 10%, must be recency bias at play there.

After the shellacking the Tories take at the next GE, I am expecting them to attempt to re-animate her corpse or clone her.

There's already an element of it now, but in the years to come I think we'll see a move to slowly phase out the WW2 and Churchill nostalgia that certain types hark back to and replace it with Maggie as a time when Britain was great.
