Confidemus
You certainly have that wee dug on the end of your leash. Mr Bairn, I believe he's called. You really are the most simple individual I have ever encountered.
Casual Bystander
It never ceases to amaze me how this H_B lad can be an expert on every single topic that is discussed. History, politics, maths... you name it, he seems to be some sort of polymath with an IQ topping the 170s. With this in mind one has to ask two questions; 1) if he is such an expert why is he spending his time on forums like this rather than going about solving the world's real problems like poverty, climate change or famine, and 2) why would such a clever man be so adamant on such a stupid decision as to vote no. Will we get an answer to these two questions? Perhaps, perhaps not, but regardless whether we do or not we should all bask in the reflective glow of a genius the likes of which grace the human race only once or twice in a lifetime.
Mr. Bojangles
As fascinating a character as H_B is, I think I missed the LOL march talk.
ICTChris
MegaLOLz march. Anyway, the guy who has bet £600,000 on a No vote has apparently added £200,000 to his bet. He will win £973,333 if the vote is No. Edited August 31, 2014 by ICTChris
doulikefish
Get out and vote if your yes was speaking to someone behind the scenes yesterday and the short story is the pollsters haven't a clue what is going on now. We don't know if we are 20 points behind, in front or level and if anyone tells you otherwise they are lying. Demographic groups are giving different answers on different days in different areas. The poll folk have been treating this like an election and the result is a complete mess. It's going to probably boil down to who gets their vote out on the day...

Bell-end of the highest order.

Guy puts down two hundred k. The BT slush fund? Hate the first paragraph: A political punter stands to gain nearly £1 million if Scotland votes No to independence, bookmaker William Hill said. No, he stands to gain £173,333.

DeeTillEhDeh
Another reason to vote Yes. Anyone who has this much money to gamble with deserves to lose. Bell-end of the highest order. My brother is using it as part of his own wee Yes campaign. Can't blame him. That being said it's clear the individual concerned does not care about politics but is a professional gambler. "The client is a middle aged gentleman who is not Scottish and does not have a vote in the referendum." If he thought Yes were going to win he'd probably bet on that outcome. For pro gamblers that sort of bet isn't actually unusual. Fred Done regularly takes £1 million bets during Cheltenham from the likes of JP McManus. It's an event with an outcome - the fact that it's the referendum is irrelevant to these sort of punters. Mr Bairn
Ladbrokes still offering odds of 10/11 on Yes getting over 42.5% of the vote. 10/11 is typically a "50-50" bet. You risk £11 to win £10. Yes getting over 42.5% seems 50-50 to me.
