Aye, you're probably right - Loads of artists cite XTC and Talk Talk as big influences on them and Difford and Tilbrook are regularly lauded as one of THE great songwriting partnerships

Saw Difford and Tilbrook at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh late last year, great songsmiths - clever/cutting lyrics and well constructed tunes

Don't think their tunes are that bad? Watch highlights from Belladrum and they were pretty rock n roll. Frontman seemed sound enough in an interview there as well.

Hundred Reasons - shite

Nine Black Alps - no bad

iForward Russia! - fell decent like

iForward Russia! are fucking excellent.

Just discovered a music folder on an old laptop from when I was still in high school. How quality were The Dykeenies.

They were bloody good and the second album "Canyon of Echoes" is still one of my current most listened to. More keyboards on it as a consequence of Andy, one of the guitarists leaving. Gutted they broke up.

Saw Team Player (with Brian & Andy Henderson of The Dykeenies) at The Buff Club in Glasgow on 7th August and very good they were too. Taking the keyboard sound of The Dykeenies second album and running with it.

Godzilla and Highs and Lows being current faves.
