You said you wouldnt go back if we kept Grant, now it's the same stance for Bob Malcolm 🙂

After a season away Alloa could appoint Josef Mengele and President Mbutu Sese Soko as co managers and I'd still be chomping at the bit to get back behind the goal.

Not exactly enamoured with the appointment, but certainly high profile and Im obviously prepared to give him a chance. A mixed record in management to date undoubtedly. But cant be disputed he was an excellent player who should command respect, with plenty contacts in the game.

I think in terms of attracting players BF could be good. In terms of tactically and how we will play I am not as confident. One thing he will be is ambitious so hopefully if properly backed with signings it will work in our favour. It will be interesting to see how players like tags, Andy, trouts, Kev and robbo take him.

Coincidentally, I heard they're both very disappointed not to be appointed in Dingwall.

Oh you got me ...well done you  but you are wrong  i said i wouldn't buy a season ticket , very different to boycotting entirely .Never said anytime that i wont go back read a bit more carefully .

be careful what you wish for eh ? as they say  regarding grant though .

Every right to voice my displeasure as someone who has followed the club and put a lot of money the club's way

i hate bigots  and bob malcolm is one .

Interesting mix, sure Mengele would know of plenty of hidden South American talent to bring to the club and Mbutu wouldn't be shy in breaking the bank to sign anyone!

Can't say im pleased at BF coming in to be honest, pretty much because I don't see what he has done to earn the role. Things completely fell apart at Clyde and Kelty came up from adopting the Gretna mode of buying success. I don't envisage him being a tactical mastermind but who knows. There does seem to be a bit of a consensus about his training being very good so will have to see how the team adapts to that. Think he also will raise the profile of the club and I agree he will attract players to the club from his name alone. I hope that doesn't come at the expense of developing youngsters through the ranks though.

Despite reservations about his appointment, he is still going to get my backing.

Bob Malcolm, on the other hand, can stay as far away as possible from the club. Absolute disgusting bigot of a specimen who i wouldn't p**s on if he was on fire. Utter moron being employed by his pal.

Paddy staying as an assistant would definitely be preferable, having him there as someone who knows the club, the players and the league. I also can see him acting as a mature 'voice of reason' if BF started to lose the plot after a couple of bad results.

Guess overall it could be worse though, could be a Ross County fan.

Ferguson saying on the radio Stevie H is away to Falkirk. Gutted at that.

That just about tops off a very bad week indeed.I won't sit on the fence on this one,i don't want Ferguson in charge,as for Malcolm, well if he arrives my loyalty will be pushed to the very brink,i'm not kidding.Stevie H was the remaining heart and lungs of the team after Flanny's departure,a sad day indeed to see him leave.I have a very bad feeling for the season ahead, and once again we'll face an ex player this season who will more than likely come back to haunt us.As you might now be guessing i'm seething just now, rightly or wrongly,it's the way i feel.

I’m not sure if that’s what you’re implying but Hetherington joining Falkirk had absolutely nothing to do with Ferguson joining. Obviously very strong in your opinion but throwing away your loyalty of your club on an assistant manager appointment? Bold.

I find it somewhat amusing the moral outrage all of a sudden at the appointment of BF and possible his assistant coach BM has brought out in our fan base. Where was this when our club captain glassed a female in a nightclub or when our defender posted revenge porn on social media. Players throughout the time of the club have done numerous  unpleasant things they probably regret as has most of people who have got skeletons in the cupboard.  The fact is in a civil sociality at its core we need to educate and rehabilitee.

Did I want BF as our manager not really and I have never really been a fan no not since the Scotland debacle which highlighted as a little ned, but he is here and we need to get on with it and either support the club or walk away. MM must have seen something in him to appoint him or it just going for a name. If BM follows him then that’s that. Again I think he sounds a thoroughly unpleasant individual, but am I going down the pub for a pint with him or have long conversations about the offside rule and training methods no. if anyone steps outline then the club as the employer should deal with this as yours or my employer would do.

If BF and BM produce the goods then all well and good. If not then we all now the consequences. I was at the recs long  before BF and will be at the Recs long after he has walked off into the sunset.

Wouldn’t piss on if he was on fire because he has sung some questionable party songs that are very common in Scotland or has he done something worse I don’t know about?

Let me be clear that i am no way condoning the above or anything else that BM or BF for that matter have said or done that has been totally unacceptable.

However touching on what Redwedge was saying i have supported Alloa for over 40 years now and have seen some real rougues play for the club. Back in the day i am sure the likes of Buck McGarry, Colin McIntosh, Frankie Cole, Lex Shields, the great Peter Lamont and Gus Smith amongst probably many others were upto everything and anything back in the day but the difference was that there was not 20 people standing by with Mobile Phone cameras filming and recording and posting it online within 5 minutes for all the world to see and hear. I am not excusing any bad behaviour and that current players etc should be media savy but my point is that i am sure there has been many players at the club over the years that their off field behaviour would be classified as unacceptable today but was never known about as it was a different time.

f**k sake that’s no very good to be fair. But even with Ferguson doing the usual shit you get and hear from Rangers fans, like it does not mean the guy is a bigot who hates catholic’s. Yes you shouldn’t be saying and singing that shit but you can’t judge or hate a guy based off of that it’s way too common in Scotland, sad but true, the amount of genuine bigots is very low and people need to realise that. DC still regularly gets called a bigot and I’ve never seen a guy that loves life and people as much as he does.

Managers have a slightly higher profile than the playing squad , BM would have as high a profile as he has a bit of known history

maybe when this all settles down and some success comes on the pitch  (hopefully)  the situation will become acceptable to a degree ?.

P and B is the only way we can let those closer to the club know how we feel possibly ?

the Fact we have been kept out of the ground exacerbates the alienation

Yes the club have had plenty to distract recently , just give us some news! !

(recently freed players unannounced as an example ) .

maybe if that side of things was improved we might react a bit more positively

What is the dividing line between Uber fan and happy clapper ?

like a lot of fans on here i have been supporting the club since totten was in charge barring 6 years forced to work saturdays .when i couldnt attend

love the club as much as the next man , regardless of how i want to part with my hard earned and dwindling income  (thanks to Covid) .

Its a shame about hetherington but players move on , he has been here a long time

the worry is are their players out there that can fill his boots, especially since we lost Flanagan too last season

Press conference was at 11 pm as far as i know , we shall see .

I'm really not a fan of this appointment, and I'll be even less impressed if Bob Malcolm is coming as well. A manager whose CV isn't great who and brings an awful lot of baggage. Given the general reaction to the leaks you may have thought that the club would want to engage with fans, and try to bring them onside at least a little. The radio silence that we're getting instead suggests that isn't the case. Even a brief confirmatory tweet or story on the website with more detail to come would surely be appreciated by fans.
